Ok first my name is Victor I live in Clarksville, Tennessee. I am right now studying to be a aircraft mechanic and am nearly done. I am married to a wonder woman named Crystal, we will have been married 2 years in December. We also have a skin kid his name is David and he is 11 years old.
Now for the furries we have 5 animals all together. Two dogs Sue and Daisy. Sue is a boarder collie mix that got all the energy of a boarder and none of the brains. Daisy is a chihuahua and is your typical small dog with napoleon complex. We also have three ferrets Cocoa, Bear, and Jack. Cocoa is a full black sable while Jack and bear are cinnamon sables.
Ok now my ferret story. One night in the beginning of June my wife and I decided we were going to go camping around my mother-in-laws house. Well I set up my tent, made a nice fire, sat down for smores. Well it started to rain so we went to bed. Around two or three in the morning I am woken up to the scratching and leaping at the shoe door of our tent. Now my first thought is rabied squirrel so I beat back at the thing not wanting it in the tent. Well it went away for a few minutes and then came back full force and got under the tent popping its head every few steps to find another opening. This time I woke up my wife to see this thing and she flipped out wanting it gone. About thirty minutes of watching this thing go at our tent I finally woke up enough and got a good shadow to see what it was. Low and behold its a ferret. After arguing with my wife that its not a rabid squirrel and that we should let it in it left. Well after getting more sleep we get woken by or kid with a rough looking fuzz ball in his arms. She was cover in ticks and very skinny. We got her home and got all the ticks off which actually took two days to do. I took her to my vet who I found out was a ferret owner herself and got her looked over and other than being skinny was a healthy two year old girl.
After around two months of only have one fuzzie it was time to get another. Well there was a woman on another forum that wanted to start a rescue. She had two boys that were brother and huge. I was wanting a bigger ferret, Cocoa is less than a pound, and she had two. Well I convinced my wife that Cocoa need two ferrets to play with, she also got a new cell phone without asking, so I got both. Bear and Jack are big boys bear being 24 inches nose to tail and around 3 to 4 pounds and Jack is around 18 and 3 pounds.
Now I am already in a raw and meaty diet feeding chicken and turkey, but I know there is more I can do to get them into a natural diet. I did find a local pet store that had day old chicks and gave it to them but Cocoa was the only to try it. She also was the fastest to eat raw meat only taking a total of two days try and eat meat and not eat anymore kibble. Bear to about a week before going full raw. Now Jack was stubborn taking a full month to even eat the raw.
So now I'm here and am wanting to go full whole prey. So let the fun begin.
