My ferret Odin keeps on escaping his harness. I have been letting him wear it around the house as well as the others since it is going to get cool again soon and i take them outside. well the moment you put the leash on he rolls around gets one paw under the neck and hes out before you know it. All of the others come when you squeak but Odin wont and i will not take him out as long as he can get out of the harness he is to fast to catch if he gets lose outside, plus he likes to play catch me if you can. In the living room its fun outside its dangerous.

I don't know if it would work for a ferret, but I have an extreme escape artist cat that I use a Gentle Leader headcollar on. The headcollars are meant to go over a dog's nose and behind the head, but I put the nose strap over Monstee's head and the head strap around her belly. It works because when she does her rolling, flailing, and pawing, it tightens, so she can't squirm out of it. I can take some pictures of her in it if you're interested.

I'd like to see it dont know if it would be small enough for a ferret though even though Odin is a big boy

I took a pic of it on Riddle first, so you can see how its meant to work (poor Riddle, she hates the GL): I attached the leash so it was a little more clear. That strap around her nose will tighten as small as it needs to to prevent her from pawing it off. It works the same with Monstee, only her whole head is in that loop: So when she does her death roll, or throws a hissy fit, it tightens automatically, or if I notice her pawing at it I can just pull up on the leash and tighten it. Monstee wears a medium, but they make small and petite sizes, for dogs right down to Chihuahuas. Hope that was helpful!

i might have to try the Chihuahua size at the store to see how small it is and hey its worth a try. I just would hate to have him be the only one that can't go outside.
Thanks I'll let you know how it goes

Ok i was in wallmart today and saw that they had what they call a "Comfort Guide" for $5.00 its their generic gentel leader. well we got it(figure for 5 if it doesnt work then oh well) put it on Odin and he went into a death roll. No matter how hard he tried he could not get out. SO yes i would say get one and thank you for the idea savagedestiny

Hooray, I'm really glad it worked out! I swear, I've never been able to keep a harness on Monstee, the GL is the only thing that works. Nice job finding a cheap version though!

have you tried the H type harnesses ?? these are what we use for most our ferrets here in the UK... and they work very well on escape artists and tiny jills who can slip a figure 8 harness

I looked on walmart.com and did not see it there. I will take a pic of it and get it posted as soon as i can. It was hanging in the dog section of walmart and it was a in a plastic box that was clear with the paper that said what it was on the bottom part of the box. and the name of it is Comfort Guide.
