It may be a irritated nipple. I wouldn't worry about it, just keep a eye on it and make sure it doesn't get worse.

Be careful with putting essential oils on it. I know cats are very susceptable to it. I am not sure about ferrets though. I asked my vet and he didnt know. Im trying to call some local holistic vets, but none of them have experience with ferrets. I was going to reccomend some good oils to help with it, but until we know for sure if they are safe for use on ferrets, Im not gunna say anthing. The witch hazel should be fine. Like Tss said, it could be an infected nipple, just keep an eye on it. Pussing and ooze are NOT good signs, so if you see those be sure to get your ferret to the vet.

My concern is that the irritated area appears to be centered in the belly (unlike a nipple ). This suggets a possible bladder or vaginal infection. Bladder infections can rapidly progress to kidney infections, which are very serious. Please don't hesitate to consult your vet.

Is the rash ON her genetils or above the genetils. I thought she said it was near the genetils (but not on the actual genetils themself)

The rash is above the genital area, which is where my girl was licking/biting when she had the bladder problem. -jennifer

My little adrenal girl, Kimba, gets little scratches and bites all the time because she is such a little scrapper. She also gets some dry skin on her bum where she has no hair. I rub a little flaxseed oil on it and although she initially resists to the cold/wet feel, she doesn't mind me rubbing it in. The redness/irritation usually clears up within 24 hours PLUS I don't have to worry about her ingesting any. None of these are infected and/or oozing, just little scratches, scrapes and maybe a scab or 2. Just my $0.02.

I'm so glad the problem cleared up on its own. Like I had mentioned, my girl's lesion prompted by too muchlicking due to a bladder infection that cropped up shortly after being spayed. I'm glad your baby didn't have to deal with that!!! -jennifer
