It is 7.99 for 8 pounds at theferretstore.com and I am reordering from there in a couple weeks to get another heating pad for my
Critter Litter is made from 100% all natural bentonite. This is a pure, non-toxic inert clay material found in many areas of the world.
Is that OK for them even though you aren't supposed to use regular clay cat litter?
Does it break down?
How is the litter smell? It claims to eliminate odors

I think I used this for my mice a few years ago.. I don't remember though.
The reason you can't use cat litter for ferrets is because since they are low to the ground it can.. Err. Get in their butts when they poo (I don't know how to put that nicely). This litter looks to be in large chunks but I don't know that I'd use it, because it is still clay and what not. Besides, that is pretty costly. Maybe if you mixed it with the pelleted litter you use.
I'll admit that before I knew better I mixed Arm and Hammer clumping litter with my woodstove pellets. I didn't have a problem but that doesn't mean everyone will be fine.

I did notice it getting stuck to her hind quarters. I already knew that any kind of cat litter was bad and I was kind of appalled that not only did she come with cat litter BUT SHE CAME WITH THE CLUMPING KIND!!! So I used up the box since it wasn't really enough to fill a large cat pan with (plus I was living with my boyfriend at the time and wasn't very fond of his mom and wasn't willing to fill even half of her litter box for free because that would involved me to actually CLEAN the box which they never did. It is exactly pea shaped. And considering it costs 6.99 for a 5 pound bag at petsmart and a 10 pound bag of yesterdays news cost 9.99 (8.99 with the petsperks card) I would be willing to pay 7.99 for an 8 pound bag from the ferret store just to try it out once or mix it with the pelleted litter. Also Loki's fur was HORRIBLE when she came to me I could tell she was never brushed and the litter made it so gross feeling. she was all dry and tacky. Her nails were like knives and her ears were CAKED with red was it was nasty. The first time I clipped her claws and cleaned her eats (I was by myself) and it took a couple hours. I was so mad bascily at her owner for not getting her used to it.

i used it..its okay, but my ferts were eating peices of it. So did it break down at all? How was the smell with it? I think this is why they were eating it Meli I found this under the more information tab on the site. Pretty interesting. Super Pet TIP: Critter Litter is made from 100% all natural bentonite. This is a pure, non-toxic inert clay material found in many areas of the world. There are thousands of unique and quite diverse uses for bentonite. Some interesting uses are: Binding and digestive agent in pelleted pet foods and livestock feed. As a dietary supplement to purify the digestive tract, neutralize toxins and improve overall food utilization, as well as nutrient absorption.

Critter litter is exspensive and messy! It's like $9 for 2 pounds around here! I didn't like it because it turns into hard clumps of clay when wet. Also, the "pearls" are too big to sift through a scoop, even the one that super pet makes so you have to use a spoon..

I was interested in getting it because I can get 8 pounds for $7.99. I have seen the starter kit at petsmart that comes with a small bag of it a triangle litter box and the scoop. I have the scoop I bought seperate. I noticed last night looking at the scoop that the litter is bigger than the slots in the scoop so sifting would be imposible. That is good to know that is kind of clumps together when wet. Clumping anything is never good. Thank you for the imput everyone I think I will nix that idea.
