Like Rolo did back in May. I wonder If I need to talk to him about giving me antibiotics for all of them because they all get random runny poops but sometimes formed. I just don't know what to do about this situation because what if everyone keeps passing it back to each other. Dr. Jones says they can be carriers and not show symptoms or not have bad symptoms. So what if when Rolo got it Loki got it too and carried it. Then gave back to Rolo then to Mr. Bean. He says like when we get sick and we have it more often out immune system fights it better. I.E why Rolo isn't bad off sick like she was last time and not having full blown diarrhea. ..Well Mr. Beans isn't really diarrhea its more soft piles. Not runny. Grrrrr My life also revolves around poo.
He said he will call and let me know what it is. I will have to dig out quarters from my coin savings to pay for the antibiotics. I am shot on cash again this month allready. Organic food and body care is expensive. But then so would the Dr. bills be for my boyfriend and I if we got cancer or something.

IS your vet doing a culture to be certain which bacteria to fight? Hopefully yes- it would be senseless to pay for antibiotics that are ineffective.

Of course he is doing a culture. He is calling me when he finds out. But I didn't have the money to get a 3 different cultures done and w/e is going on with Mr. Bean is most likely contagious and they all would have it. It affects the young more because they haven't had it before so it affects the immune system differently. The vet is Dr. Jones at The University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital. They are one of the best hospitals in the states to diagnose and treat adrenal which is great for me. The hospital is also featured in The book Ferrets from the Animal Planet line speaking of places to diagnose and treat adrenal.

Not trying to cast aspersions on your vet- just have been in situations where the vet has said, "well it looks like such and such, so lets see if this works..." then a couple weeks later when "THAT" hasn't worked I'm back again and the vet will say, "hmmm, o.k. well then let's try this..."
It's frustrating to say the least, especially when you request a culture and the vet says, Oh I don't need a culture, I've seen this before.
You've probably run into it before- you know when a vet has a "god" complex.
i'd venture a guess that yes, your crew is passing this problem back and forth, so even if each one isn't cultured, then at least all of them should benefit from being medicated equally.
Hope you can kick this problem! Cheers, Kim
