Do you have a will? Are your ferrets (and other pets) included in it? Do you have a fund set aside for their care?
I don't even have a will, but I should. My dad did not and it caused a few issues. Anyhow, now I'm trying to figure out who I would leave my ferts to. When my son is older they would go with the kids, but until then I'd have to set-up a different situation.

not only is a Will good to have but also its good to have somebody already trained and familar to your animals in case a emergency comes and you can not take care of them yourself . There are many things that can happen that can keep you from home for a few days ( god forbid car accident, work accdident ,ect) its always a good thing if you have a person who knows your pets and the pets know him/her to take care of them for at least short term.

My hubby and I both have wills however mine is the only one that says anything about the pets. LOL. Whoever gets whatever pet gets some of my estate to help with the animals but not much as most of it to the person who gets my kids. The dogs and the cat was easy the ferrets were harder.

I do not, but I should probably set something up to where I know my babies will be cared for if I die. This is a good idea.

I love the enthusiasm! So did you already know who would be taking the ferrets?

You know, I was thinking about this the other day. Especially switching the ferrets to a natural diet, makes them a little harder to place. So, who wants to be in my will and take my seven ferrets if I somthing happens to me. Maybe we need an emergency foster thread somewhere...

I don't have a written will - I'm workin' on it - but my mom is taking all my animals if something happens to me. She feeds her dogs and cats raw, so no biggie there. She'll probably have to rehome a couple of dogs (well, hubby might keep the dogs, there's really no telling), but I'd trust her more than anyone else to do so. She's also taking my kids if something happened to both me and my hubby.
I'll get it all on paper, soon, there's complications because of the kids, though, and I'm trying to find out how to go about it.
