Little kits do fight over food. My young ones were very aggressive when it was meal time. When they were tiny they would share a chicken leg or neck, but as they got a bit older, no way would they share. It was funny watching a blind wee little one trying to drag some meat away from his siblings. My 4 now do fight over food all the time, with Merlin being the biggest thief. He will go and take food out of the others mouths, just because he can. Bindi & Merlin had a tug of war with one mouse the other day, of course Merlin won. The only thing I can do is to make sure they get at least 6 pieces of meat, so then they can play musical chairs, I mean meat, and everyone gets something to eat

That's half the fun of feeding raw!

Oh, it can get very heated and sound very nasty. Just make sure that there is indeed enough for both of them. The least dominant will back down and allow the "top" fuzz to eat (not in peace) but allow them to eat and then when they're full the next fuzz get's to eat. ciao

Heather, that's what I was worried about. I feel that here in a few months I will be adding a second little fuzz butt and I was worried about feeding frenzies. I want to make sure everyone is well fed.

In all the little ones that have called this home, I've never had one not get enough food from the petty bickering that goes on in the food scrum. Even, my little Calypso, who's spinal injury didn't allow her to chase the brats got what she needed. At one time I had 12 ferrets all living together and sharing space. The food fights were something to see, but no one ever got hurt and no one ever actually went hungry either. The fights have a tendency to be vocal, not harsh. If you notice this little one holisticferret.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ferretpic&action=display&thread=6857she never once bites...she screams, runs but never does she actually turn on either her furpartner or her person. She is hugely aggressive though about her food. ciao

As are all of mine In one cage, I have two ferrets(Zeus and Athena). When it's a plate of commercial raw, they sit quietly on either side of the dish, sharing the meal. When it's something like mice, or wings, or anything else they really love- watch out
