I was just on Rodentpro.com, and I just sat there wondering what in the world I was doing. I don't know what I would get, quails, chicks, mice, pinkies, fuzzies- what is the best? She's just a little female kit right now but I'm just not sure. What do you prefer? What do your ferrets prefer? I have NO idea whatsoever!

Everything The more variety the better. Get a variety of prey and a variety of AGES of prey (feed mostly adults, but throw in some pinkies and fuzzies for variety every now and then). Most ferrets LOVE baby quail and chick (but they should only be fed 1x per week because they arent that high in calcium. My ferrets LOVE mice, they'll eat rats too. They are kind of "eh" about the guinea pig (although they used to love it). They dont really go nuts for the chicks (my cat does though ) , but they LOVE quail (they've not yet had rabbit).

All ages (but feed primarily adult animals) Toss in some babies or oldies for variety.

YES your kits will eat adults.
I have seen a 9 week old ferret put away 2 adult mice no problem.

I just started my Malcolm on mice tonight (the others aren't interested yet). He took to it like a champ and it hasn't been any more gross than when he was eating chicken wings; except that the mice were so small he kept coming back for more, and more, and more... He's a pig!

I was surprised at how clean feeding whole prey is as well. I've never found any trace of mouse, rat, etc after the fuzzies finish eating. Well, except for feathers from some of the older birds. But thats it!
