You homeschooled your kids vkp23? How old are they? It's so much easier to do that now than it was when I homeschooled my daughter. My son only has a year left before going off to college and he's talking about doing his final year in school Unfortunately, I can't teach him anything about being a machinist, so I'm just going to let him. He's old enough that he needs to make his own choices. He's going to have enough trouble with all the bureaucracies without me giving him grief about taking his last year in high school
The problems about vaccines vs natural medicines and such is ignorance...lack of knowledge. It doesn't just mean the layman either, we're talking many of the professionals too. How many times do you hear if you don't vaccinate it means that your pet will die. It's like the vaccine is the medicine, but it's not. It's actually a very old theory.....very similar to basic homeopathy. You are getting the body sick, in a controlled manner so that it will recognise the illness when it hits you for real. Vaccines give one a false sense of security, they are are not a cure. I've heard it a number of times, my pet has been vaccinated for this, so they won't get it....wrong. Your pet's immune system recognises the attack so they "may" not get it, because they recognise the virus or if they do they "may" be able to fight it off depending on the severity of the attack.
A perfect example, though it has to do with humans is; my niece and my son both came down with chickenpox (they shared everything, why not this). They got a severe case, they were miserable (so were we ). They ran a temp, they itched, they got the spots everywhere....between toes, in their ears..everywhere. The next year my niece went to kindergarden....she came down with the chickenpox....again, not near as bad but she caught it anyway. My sister not being able to believe this took her to the doctor. He confirmed the case, said it sometimes happens. What did the doctor do....he gave her the chickenpox vaccine . Why? to get rid of the chickenpox Two years later, guess what...she's got them again. This time someone actually used their head. They tested her titre....guess what...she's going to get them again..she has no immunity. None. So, what happened....maybe nothing, her body just cannot mount the immunity to this particular virus or maybe because the vaccine was given during the actual onslaught of the disease it was an overload. The immunologist who was consulted was furious, stated she should never have been given the vaccine and giving her another was just plain stupid, if she hadn't mounted the proper immune response the first time, sticking her with the virus wasn't going to improve her reaction. The thing is because of this they tested my son's titre as well. His is very high, he can mount the immunity required. Some people, pets never do mount the immunity, some react poorly to the vaccine. The thing is chances are if your furchild reacts to the vaccine, it probably woudn't be the virus...chances are they're reacting to the contents of the vaccine. Personally, I have a problem injecting things like mercury and other heavy metals into my furkids...into my children for that matter. I have a problem injecting known carcinogens into my body and I don't care what "big brother" has to say about it.
The bottom line is know what your risking, with the vaccine, with the disease. Some are lower risks than others. I wouldn't have a problem if the vaccine was just the active ingredients, its what keeps the virus (what it's grown in, and kept in) that is usually the issue. We will read all the secondary ingredients on our vitamines and make decisions on those ingredients but we won't demand to see what they are when we vaccinate.
ciao
