Has anyone made their own litter box?
My idea is to get squares/rectangles of plexiglass to make a corner box that is NOT triangular in shape.
I figured I would use maybe hot glue or some time of epoxy to bond the pieces together.
Thoughts? Has anyone made their own? I would like to get them a box that they would like to use more naturally since they are corner hogs and I've noticed the high back square boxes aren't really natural in the sense that they have to climb into it and then back into a corner.

I made mine a litter box that they really seem to use well. I will take a pic and post it later. The only problem I see with your idea is it's hard to cut plexiglass without it breaking (in my experience) unless you have the right tools (which I don't )

I'd love to see your box ferretfreke. I have also been considering buying plexi glass and making a custom box. I have also been told ferts like to poop in an enclosed dark place, so I wonder if there are other materials to be used other than clear plexi-glass.

K, so I was too lazy to clean it first but the poop just proves that they use it, right? ... It's just a plastic tote that measures approx. 16" W x 22 1/2" L x 5 1/2" H and I cut it down to 1 1/2 " high for easy entry. Cutting it down around the corner really increases their using it I found. I used a dremel to cut it, then sanded the rough edges. It fits perfectly in a FN cage. My big boys especially like it.

I've used small rubbermade containers and cut a hole in the front. It's good with the lid on it, for when you dont 'want' a house full on litter boxes.lol Just get the ferret first as Zeke is way too big to get his butt into some of them.
Edited to add it's similar to ferretfreke, only i just cut a square hole in the front, and left all four sides/corners up.

I had the same set-up as Ferretfreke, with the cutout in the under-bed style tote. It really worked well for their hit rate, since it's half the floorspace in an FN. There's still the usual little scatter of litter, but it's easy to take the whole thing in and out to dump completely and wipe down. And I found it could go longer between scoops.
Now I have my entire-level litter box, and the tote one is in their play space.

That's actually what I was thinking of doing Ferretfreke so I'm glad I'm not the only one with the idea. I'll probably just use the tote then because that'd probably be a LOT simpler than measuring and cutting plexiglass. Entire level litter box? Could you post a picture of that?

If you mind my asking, what attachment for your Dremel did you use? I tried cutting and ended up just melting through plastic when I made their feeding den.

I used the cutting disc (the round, kind of quarter sized piece). If you run the dremel on the highest speed and touch it slowly to the plastic slowly increasing your pressure and do it in sections as wide as the disc, you wont get as much melting. If that makes sense. I think I may have still had to use two discs for the project. I'm sure you could use a good box cutter too, if youre more skilled with one than me I always end up almost cutting through an arm or something.

Thanks for the dremmel tip....I'm not allowed to use sharp cutting tools, because I am that special, and almost always end up with needing stitches....and because I'm terrified of needles, I stay home, instead of going to the ER, and use superglue to close the cuts that need attention! My mil says that I am " an accident waiting for a place to happen..." oh yeah...I even gave myself a concussion by walking into the wall once

One of my best friends has done both. The ground jumps up and trips her several times a day too. I can't believe she has lived as long as she has Please do share HOW she managed those! And I have almost had my reflection "run over" me, have walked into walls (no concessions though lol) and always hit my hips on doorknobs. Oh, and I work in a lab with dangerous chemicals for my thesis research (I HATE it). Let's just say, I am NOT a person who is meant to be in a lab. I am SUCH a Klutz! Everyone tells me I just need to slow down and be careful...but I DO and I still manage to destroy things. This summer I managed to spill a bottle of a chemical that was apparently highly dangerous (um, thanks for letting me know Before I started working with the stuff...!). They had to clear out the entire lab and do some special clean up process. I have also broken several glass beakers, spilled gels that I just spent 2 hours making...yeah. I hate lab woth a passion, for more than one reason. It is not safe for me to be there! Can't wait for it to be over! Anyways, I just got a tupperware box that I am going to cut a hole in (If I can) and use as a litter box. Sounds easier than making one with plexi. I have worked with plexi and let me tell you, it is a PAIN! haha
