Neka... native for wild goose! Here's our new guy Neka. 6months old ANd a total spaz!! These are the only pics i have cause he didn't stay still long enough! He's all white, with a few random specks of black on his spine/tail this morning, curled up with zeke... and Zeke WAS our big boy! FOUR HOURS of him running around when we got him home. Then crashed for 45 mins(cause i put him in time out, the only reason he slowed down) then was up and crazy for another 2 hrs. I have a few videos on my face book and can't get the embeding to work. I'll try again when i get home from work.

How fluffy! Any puffy tails in the house? I know that puffy tails are serious business to the ferts, but as long as there isn't any real danger, they are AWFULLY CUTE!

Only puffy tail was after his bath. And i thought he was a spaz before! Zeke has tackled him, but only when Neka starts it, and as soon as zeke attacks back Neka screams murder then comes back for more. No blood, no poop no tails puffed. Knock on wood, going well with the ferrets so far. My toes on the other hand would have a puff tail if they knew how!! He's cute, not cuddly, and a little terror... has the kids running to protect their toes. We have lots of training to do with this little guy. I've already noticed a difference from yesterday (there were times today when he'd sniff your toes and think about it then walk away LOL), but long way to go. I'm sure there will lots of post with questions over the next few weeks.

He could be partially deaf (in a ferret I know that's hard, rather like testing a teenager.....they can't hear you call but they can hear a plate taken out of the cupboard ) ciao

Selective listening! I`m familiar with that particular disability! Though he`s a still very much a toddler... temper tantrums when put to bed, and everything goes in his mouth! okay some videos hope this works this time. This is what he does the entire time he`s out! He`s determined too... watch the tunnel over the box.. he`s the only one who can get up there. LMAO You can see his front paws as he pauses and then goes through again!

I remember poor Porthos. He'd never known anything but a cage, a tiny hamster cage, no room for a litter box, no hammies, no blankies. That was his living space for the first 18 months of his life. His owner (I use the term lightly, his abuser) was biten when he was a kit, the first couple of weeks that she had him. She locked him in that tiny cage until she dumped him off at a ferret meet and greet. He was more dead than alive, skin and bones, covered in fleas and sores. He was a horrible biter, he'd bite and then grind his teeth, he wouldn't let go. He had hip and spinal injuries that the vet figured was caused by his person throwing him against a wall or the floor. I guess he figured that if he hung on, then he wouldn't hit a wall . The rescue I was working with cleaned him up and then I brought him home and let him out...he had the whole house to run in. He went berserk. Eight hours later I was calling the rescue admin to find out what to do about him. I was afraid the little fellow would have a heart attack. I'd never seen anything like it. I finally caught him up in a blanket and put him in a cage, he never even made it in the hammy, entirely.....fell asleep with his bum hanging out. He was like that every day for about two weeks....then he realized he didn't have to live his whole life in the hours that he was out of the cage, he could sleep and relax and when he woke up, he wasn't back in that horrible cage. ciao
