How bad exactly is a the brown rice (binding agent) In my ferrets kibble for them? Also Why is it that I have read in several places (can't remember where) that is is best to give your ferret a food with a moisture content as low as possible? This seems @ss backwards to me. Also should I wait to add wysong arcetype 1 to their soupie after they have already become accustomed to raw with no kibble since it has bones in it and I don't want them to choke. At what point do I add the ground eggshell to the soupie. I don't know why i haven't started getting them accustomed to the wet food yet I have been waiting to get some organic free range chicken broth but I realized Duuuuuh I can just start with water. Also do you think they would refuse food just because it is in a new bowl? I have to take away their favorite food bowl and use their old water bowl attached to the side of the cage with a small bungee until I buy them another lock on crock. Sorry so many different questions I am still learning as much as I can and will still be learning even as I start switching.

Rice is not a species appropriate food and your ferrets can't properly digest it. A high amount of grains/carbs/straches can also can trigger insulinoma when your ferret gets older. There is no reason to wait to add Wysong. The theory about ferrets needing as little moisture in their food as possible is off. A ferret's natural diet is high in moisture. With cats, feeding dry food is now linked with urinary tract issues because they are meant to get most of their moisture from food. Ferrets can be "weird" about changes in their food but I have never heard of a ferret refusing food from a strange bowl. An FYI since you mention lock on crocks - plastic is not a suitable material for your fpet's food or water bowls/bottles. Really not suitable for us either. www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=plastic-not-fantastic-with-bisphenol-a

How bad exactly is a the brown rice (binding agent) In my ferrets kibble for them? Pretty darn bad lol. As aleron said high carbs have been linked to insulinoma. Ferrets can't even digest the grain, so all that money you spend of food is coming right out your ferrets back door. That and its stressing out your ferret's body. Also Why is it that I have read in several places (can't remember where) that is is best to give your ferret a food with a moisture content as low as possible? This seems @ss backwards to me. That IS @ss backwards. I've never actually seen somewhere that recommended that. Could you post a link to a place that says this Like aleron said, moisture should be HIGH. Ferrets (and cats) are built to get most of their fluids from food, not from sitting around drinking loads of water. Also should I wait to add wysong arcetype 1 to their soupie after they have already become accustomed to raw with no kibble since it has bones in it and I don't want them to choke.PM mustelidmusk about this. She has more experience with this product then me (seeing as how I have NO experience with it lol ) She can answer this for you. At what point do I add the ground eggshell to the soupie. You dont need to do this unless the switch to raw is taking a few weeks I don't know why i haven't started getting them accustomed to the wet food yet I have been waiting to get some organic free range chicken broth but I realized Duuuuuh I can just start with water. Yup, water works fine. Some people just use the broth becaus the ferrets like it more. Also do you think they would refuse food just because it is in a new bowl? I have to take away their favorite food bowl and use their old water bowl attached to the side of the cage with a small bungee until I buy them another lock on crock. I would think so (but thats not to say its impossible). Just feed them in the same location and I dont think they will get confused. Sorry so many different questions I am still learning as much as I can and will still be learning even as I start switching. No problem! If you have more questions, PLEASE ask away
