To be honest, my first thought was blood in the stool as well, just from the dark colour. Did he have those after a blood rich meal, like beef, liver, other organ?

Nope. Just turkey. Looking at that poop I kind of thought blood too, but I could not really tell. Time to call the vet... fecal samples are typically like $60-$80 there. But I think she might be willing to work with me on not bringing him in. They may require that I do though just to check on his general post-surgery status. I am not sure. They are closed now though so I will have to call in the morning. Blaaaaaahhhhhhhh. Poor little buddy. I was really hoping the orangish appearance was from the turkey. I hope it is something simple that a little antibiotics can clear up... Thank you guys for the input. I don't know where either Koda or I would be without this forum...

Well I called the vet office today and I am bringing in a fecal sample today. Hopefully Koda will poop right after I get home, not before, and not like hours after. The fecal sample is a lot less expensive than I thought - I was quoted around $60-80 a long time ago for my iguana, but they said it is a little over $40 for Koda. So not too bad. Hopefully they will find the problem that way and he will not need an exam. Keep your fingers crossed the fecal sample does it and that it is nothing too serious! *crosses fingers*

He got some vaseline last night and had a HUGE pile of poop in his bow this morning. Then he had this normal poop today. Could it be he just passed a huge pile of yuckiness and now everything is all cleared out? I have given him vaseline before and his poops were still runny. Should I still bring the nice poop in? I don't want to bring in the nice poop, then have them be like "Nothing wrong here!" and then come home for him to poop yucky poops... Ideas?

If his stool and behaviour is normal for a day or two, I'd wait for a while. He may have gotten over whatever it was himself. If he still has a problem, then the odd stools will show up again.

Ok thanks. that is a relief. I didn't bring it in today hoping for a better gross poop - but also hoping for no more gross poops. haha His poops today are still a tiny bit orange, but very well formed. I want to see how he poops tomorrow and maybe bring some in then.

No.. this is not wierd... read he stickied post in the medical section called "homeopathic poop protocol. It talks about the vaseline smothering and/or flushing the bacteria out of the system. (and the addition of a little colloidal silver in the rinking water helps as well.) I'm not ure if the vaseline creates toxic/anaerobic environment for bacteria or of the flushing of the system is what helps - perhaps both.
