Hello all,
I came across this add on craigslist this evening and thought I would post it here in case someone is interested. I would try to take her myself if I thought I could swing the re-homing fee but I just can't at this time.
Mostly tho, I am just worried that she will end up with an inexperienced ferrent who does not understand the whole un-spayed female issue...
So...if anyone out there is looking for a new baby maybe this little girl is the one.
Thanx,
Jackie

Hi, I have a sable colored ferret that is about 4-6 months old, who is in need of a new home. I do not have time for her, as my mom has cancer and I spend most of my time with her now. I am looking to find Meeko a loving home where she can be cared for and have plenty of free time to play and be loved. If you already have ferrets, that would be her ideal home. She's very social and very fun-loving. She is also very adventurous and loves to roam around. She is a tiny bit nippy, but that seems to only be when she is hungry and is being handled. Once she eats, she is great. She is currently on Marshall's young ferret diet and she loves it.
She will come with her very large 3 story super pet cage. It retails for about $200 dollars in pet stores.
I am asking $150 for her re-homing fee, mainly to cover the cage and just to ensure she goes to a great home. However, this is negotiable down to $100 dollars if I feel like you will be a great home for her.
She is up to date on her shots. She is not de-scented or spayed yet, the vet suggested I wait till she was a little bit larger. The veterinarian I have always gone to for my small animals is excellent, and I can give you his information if you'd like. Anyone who adopts her MUST understand that she will need to be spayed when she is between 8-9 months old. If they are unspayed and not allowed to breed, they can become anemic and many other health problems can arise. Please keep this in mind if you are interested. The procedure is not as expensive as spaying a dog or a cat, but it is still somewhat costly. If this is a concern to you, please do not email me regarding her. If I still have her by the time she is of that age, she will be spayed with me. Although I really need to find her a new home as soon as possible, as I am rarely home.
I can send pictures of her from my phone to yours, if you include your phone number in your email.
If I can't find the perfect home for her, I will take her to a local ferret rescue that I have supported for a long time.
Please contact me if you are truly interested in Meeko. She is a great girl, and has a ton of life left to give. Please respond to the email above with any questions or interest. Thank you!
