Have you tried him on any other protein sources? I would start considering what else you want him to be eating. Mixing up proteins (offering variety through the week) is your ultmate aim. That way you're covering all your nutritional bases. The more proteins you feed, the less you will have to supplement. The easiest is not having to supplement at all....you do this by feeding at minimum at least 3 different protein sources a week. I used to be able to get rabbit, lamb and turkey in the 5lbs pkgs of ground meats. I would semi thaw and cut those pkgs into quarters and place each into a sealable container and put them back in the freezer. You could actually scrape off the meat and put them into ice cube containers and freeze. You could then break them out and store them in plastic baggies identified as to the proteins that are stored in each baggie. You could then thaw whatever protein source that you wanted to feed. Now I'm feeding a lot more ferrets than you but I would then take out rabbit for Monday, Turkey for Tues, Lamb for Wed and then we would have chicken for Thurs and Quail for Friday....the chicken and quail would be whole meats. The ground meats always came with everything included: meat, bone and offal. By doing it in this manner I didn't have to add expensive and questionable supplements to their diets. It's just an idea and it offers changes of proteins during the week instead of trying to feed in 5 lbs pkgs and waiting for one pkg to be finished before starting another. I will check in with you tomorrow . ciao

Sounds great. I've heard that haretoday is good quality food but the shipping is expensive. Have you looked at rodentpro. They also have a wide variety of meats and shipping is gaged by where you are in respect to how far they have to ship. They are also at all the ferret shows and will allow pick up (saving shipping) at the show. I don't know if you're in an area that has some of the big ferret shows or not but that might be an idea too. They don't have ferret shows up here, and neither haretoday nor rodentpro will cross boarders to ship. Can't say I blame them, it's just way too complicated. Good luck, I will check in with you later. ciao
