Ok from reading most of the newbie switching sections i notice most use the same stuff for switching or should I say common things seem to be used ... I want to start switching my guys in the next week or 2 I am making a shopping list that I think I will need the online stuff is mostly what I am worried about having on hand before I start . here is a list I got so far.
1.Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Beef Steaks 2.Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Chicken & Beef Steaks 3.Wysong Archetype 4.AFS Freeze-Dried Majestic Sprinkles-Carnivore Diet 5. baby food meat only 6. pedylite none flavored 7. asprin ( for me when i go nuts and get headaches from worry when they dont eat) 8. heavy cream (Hershy is still very thin ) 9. chicken broth (low or no sodium) 10. unsalted lard (thanks to Kim) anything else I need to add ? (besides meats thats the easy part for me) 1 -4 is going to have to be ordered online i like to order as much as possible to save shipping any suggestions on how much I should order of each for a months supply would be greatly appreciated I think most come in 6 or 7 ounce packages.

Unsalted lard - which will help hershy put on some ounces, but keep in mind that some ferrets are just naturally thin. There are several body styles among ferrets and the "whippet" style is quite common. These ferrets will generally have a more pointy head and a very lean, wiry body style. As long as you aren't seeing hip bones protruding and a back bone ridge, or shoulder blade ridge, your ferret is in good weight for its body type.

what is beef suet ?
Kim I think you correct on her being a whippet her jaw and head is much smaller and narrower then JD and I feel the same amount of rib with her as I do JD I dont see any protruding bones

If you go to the grocery store and ask the butcher he will show you. It is solid hunks of raw white beef fat.
