Sorry that I have been absent off & on for a while. I have had a lot going on, & I too will be going through a divorce. It is best for us, & it seems the process should go fairly smoothly. We are listing the house this week, so I have been a painting fool. Working constantly to get the house in order to sell. We will both live in the house until the house sells, then I will get my own place. I don't know where he is going, he isn't saying, but I also haven't asked him yet. "The talk" went fairly well, he took it better than I expected. He said he saw it coming for a long time. He knows it's due to choices he has made that I will no longer accept. It is best that we both just go our separate ways. Even though I know it's for the best, this weekend was especially hard for me, knowing I am dissolving my marriage. Marriage vows are sacred to me, & I fought for a long time to make it work, but he kept making choices that I cannot live with. I expect that he will take Zoe, one of the dogs, & I will have the two GSD's, the 7 ferrets & the cat. It's going to be tough & I hope I don't have to rehome any of the ferrets, but that will be a last resort, only if necessary. If I do, it would most likely be to one of my friends who lost her ferret to old age & poor health right before she went out to sea (she works for NOAA, researching ocean fish). She has plans to get at least two ferrets right after she comes home, which will be the end of August, so we'll see. I hope & plan on keeping all 7, if possible. I will check in periodically, but the next few months are going to be tough. Don't forget about me while I'm gone...k?

So far, everything has been pretty civl. We both still live in the house, until it sells. We hve enough spare rooms that we each have our own space. Although he hasn't been staying here at night, for almost a week, since his mom is out of town, he has stayed at her place to take care of her dogs, plus it's closer to work for him that way. I am working on getting a bunch of stuff packed up now & will be taking it to a storage unit. That way, there is less to move from the house on closing day, & I won't have to rush as much that day, I can just move what's left of mine & then move the stuff from storage at my convenience. I am hoping there will be a condo available in my old complex, when the house sells. It would be nice to find a small house, but I will have to wait & see. We had to push back the listing date a week, because I am no where near ready for it to be listed yet. I was able to take a couple PTO days between this week & next week, to work on house stuff, so it is going well. I hope you all are doing well!

Still here...the house lists tomrrow...I hope it sells soon. It looks like I'm gonna have to rehome a few ferrets. We ALL know Meli LOVES Xander, so we have been talking about the possibility of getting him over to her. So, here's my plea; If anyone is in the Seattle area or coming to the Seattle area, that may be headed to her area (IL?-is that right Meli?) maybe we can get him over to her? I told her I would split the pet carrier fee on Delta, if we went that route. Or, if anyone has any ideas, on how to get him to her, I know he would be in awesome hands, & she wouldn't have to threaten to steal him anymore. =) It started off as joking around, but if we can make it a reality, that would be great. I think one of my friends would be willing to take two, since she was already planning on adopting two from a rescue when she gets home in a few weeks, & that would save her the adoption fee, so I am waiting to see how that part goes.

lol yes I won't have to say I'm stealing him hehe..permanent babysitter is what I would be I have been researching and the fee is not a problem for me. I looked into pet shipping airlines but they only service for seattle. Is that close by you?

It's close enough. Without traffic, it's just over an hour for me to get there. With traffic though, it would take a couple hours. I can figure that out...is Sept 15th the day you want to plan for? I will PM you my cell#, k? =)

I think (fingers crossed) I have it almost worked out. Working with Meli about getting Xander & I think my friend will take Zeus & Zora, but I wil have to see. The rest will stay with me. It really sux to have to downsize in ferrets, but under my new circumstances, it's best for them, & that's my priority.
