is suddenly popping up with these small pencil top eraser size bumps on his legs. He has one on the left leg and now another is popping up on his right..they're not oozing or anything, just really hard and small. I remember my chihuahua getting something similar..beignine tumors..I'm making him an appt. this week, but jeez I hope its nothing to bad. He's such a great little dog. Any idea what you think it might be?

Do you have a pic? Sounds like tumors to me. They will probably want to do a biopsy of the tumor at the vet's office to check if its malignant. How old is your rat terrier? I know older dogs seem to get tumors like that quite often.

That would definitly help. If you post pics of the tumors I can tell you what I think. I am certainly not an expert though, so its good that you are taking him to his vet appointment.

I'll take a look when you post the pictures but they may be cysts. My dog Tessa has sebaceous cysts, she gets more every once in a while. The must noticeable ones are on the inside of her legs and behind her ears becuase those are oily spots. It happens when the dogs pores stop secreating like normal so it makes a cyst. It's almost like when you get a pimple, your pore gets blocked and the oil builds up causing a bump.
It is rare for the cysts to go away unless they are removed.

Ya they're very small and when I touch them it doesn't hurt him. I need to take pictures of them. Let me do that now.

Okay so luke is one healthy little sucker haha..he only weighs 14 pounds..small little guy Anywho the vet said his bumps that he is developing are warts and should go away in the next 6 months, but if they don't or they get bad to bring him in for them to be frozen off. Another thing..My vet referred me to an animal clinic near my home that specializes in "pocket pets"..woot I'm so happy because my future fert will be going to someone who is experienced!
