Thanks Giuli! No, he is currently a locomotive engineer. He goes back and forth between working as an inspector in the refineries (remember when BP Texas City exploded a few years back? he was there) and working on different short line railroads. His dream job has always been to be a "real" engineer. Now that he is, he's realized it's not as cool a job as one would think, LOL. He enjoys it, but not enough to override how much everything else here sucks So, basically it's another been there, done that, got the tshirt chapter in our lives We've decided that once the kids are grown (we'll still be young, when our youngest turns 18, I'll be 39 and he'll be 43) he's going to take jobs that will take us around the country so we can see everything Only 12 more years! (wow - time flies! they're growing up so quick!)

*sigh* I think Chicago is great.... Although I'm in the Northwest suburbs and have a big yard, lots of trees, a deck. There's just so much to do, or not do, when you're here.

Thats the thing..I was born and raised in chicago..didn't leave til I was 21..after seeing something else..it made the city look ugly to me..but not downtown chicago..I love downtown chicago..my parents live in wood dale which is like 10 mins from o'hare and I love it there! The only thing is..if my hubby becomes a chicago cop we'll HAVE to live in the city..at least I know where the good neighborhoods are..thats a plus..and I know I'll be able to find a job..so my masters won't be a waste..okay I guess theres a lot of plus's lol

I live in St. Louis. Tim and I went to chicago last summer for our 3mo anniversary. We had Wednesday at the time (in my siggy) and we brought her along. It was so fun to go downtown by the lake and walk her (because she walked on a leash like a dog). Everyone was like "What is that?" "what is that?" it was tons of fun. I stuffed her in one of those dog carriers that looks like a purse and I brought her into the museums and aquarium while she slept. It was a blast!

Yeah, petco is expensive. I may end up just making one eventually. Find a regular purse pattern and modify it or something...
