I'm really trying to get my mouse colony to be able to provide 75% of my ferret's nutrition. My smaller jills will eat at least 2 mice per day (adult size) and the boys will eat 4 per day. So I can expect to feed a minimum of 16 mice per day 4 days a week or at least 64 mice per week to six ferrets! That's if I stick to offering mice as 75% of their diet.
My breeding colony is still in start up mode, but it is offering several mice a week for now - at least enough to keep them interested in mice offer a healthy bowel cleansing and is keeping my money in my pockets!
Cheers, Kim
