I leave for Canada this summer and the pet sitter I have set up has to have the pet sitting done at her house. She has two other ferrets. Will this stress him out to much? My mom is making me go with her instead of waiting to go with my dad, so I leave July 22nd. We don't get back until August 26th, so he'll have to have his surgery after. I do have an appointment set up for him on the 18th of this month to get a physical and maybe update his shots since I don't know when the last time was he got those. Chewie so far doesn't show any signs of other illnesses. He is a little dook machine and loves giving kisses!! My questions is I don't think Oliver and Chewie can bond in 4 days, so since he doesn't show signs of anything else can I let them play together, but keep them in separate rooms? I know this is not very ideal, but July 18th is the soonest I could get him in.

I would keep them seperated until you get Chewie to the vet. You never know. The only time i let a new ferret with my bunch before going to the vet is when i know the person that they are comming from (ie when i get them from my breeder) becuase i then know if anything is going around where they came from, what shots and when they got them, and i already know the temperment of the ferret because i get to see them from the time that they are born until i actually get to bring them home.
How is the lady going to keep them that is pet sitting the babies?? Is she going to have them in their own cage at her house? or was she planning on putting them in her cage with her babies?? Was she going to give them seperated play times or let them play all together? This alone could determine how much stress they can be under?

My ferrets will be kept in their own cage. I am not sure about the play time, but I believe it will be separate.

I think keeping them seperate will help keep their stress levels down. They should be ok. Relax and just be perpared to baby them when you get home

What about Chewie's adrenal treatment? It isn't very long now before you leave for a month, so I'd suggest Lupron as being your best bet at least for now.

Ok. Yeah my mom says that we can't get the surgery done until after we get back, so I'll see if I can get some lupron.
