That could be it...she could have emotional issues....ferrets are very sensitive creatures, so you never know!

Badger is actually doing worse. She won't eat when I take the kibble away! I mean she is TINY as it is, but after almost 2 days with no kibble I noticed a drop in her weight. IDK what to do!!
As for the others... they are just about eating whatever. The chunks are like 2"x2" and I still mix it with a little ground chicken and water, but I have bone in there too, and sometimes organs. So...what do I do from here? I mean how much bone do they need per day or week? What do I need to work on or whatever?

Ok as for Badger, I would keep her eating the kibble for now.....we will need more senior help than I can give so I will have to ask some of the senior mentors for help.
With the others, now stop using the water and ground mix...feed them plain chunks now, make sure you have a variety of meats mostly bone in (at least 3 days a week need to be "bone in" days...meaning these days you will need to feed things with bones such as chicken necks, cornish game hen with the bones in, chicken wings, duck necks....pretty much whatever you can find with small bones)
Let me know how it goes with the plain chunks (without the water and ground mixture) let me know how they all take to it....and I will get back to you about help with Badger

Ok thanks, Raisinette may need a little more time with mush bc she is kind of finicky, but I will try it. The other two should have no problems!

ok heres what Heather and Sherrylynne said... "How much time can she spend with her? I would suggest syringe feeding (I hate this method but sometimes you have to). If she can get substantial food into her at these feedings I would take away the kibble and feed her only the raw soupy and see if you can get her to recognize the soupy." If you can spend a good amount of time with her (which Im not sure if you can or not, I understand how busy we can all be!) if and when you feed her the soup, take away the kibble and only give it back at night....also with this soup, make it with blending the raw with warm water and only put in minimal amounts of other "yummy" stuff you put in to make it taste "better" if you do
Let me know what you think
Im sure Raisin will come around, its early still for her, you can also do this technique with her too if you want
And more more thing Heather was wondering...where did you get Badger? is she a marshals or do you know?

Yea Badger is Marshalls I think bc she has the 2 dots on her ear. I was at Petco when someone dropped her off, and I felt so bad for her bc the employee just dumped her in a bin with a bunch of their kits and you could tell she was terrified. They were charging $200(which was ridiculous bc she was just brought in by her previous owner and already 2 yrs old) at the time and I could not afford her. So I went back almost 2 weeks later (when I got paid) and she was still there...miserable as ever. So I got her.
Mon/Wed I don't have time in the morning but I am home by 4pm. Tues and Thurs I am home about 1pm and have the rest of the day (except only Tues I have class from 6:30 pm-9:15pm, but I usually come home in between), Fri, Sat, Sun I only work in the AM so I have nothing after about noon.
How do I syringe feed? I mean how much, how often, etc. Also what all do you think should go in it? Ground chicken, Salmon Oil, Egg, Crushed Shell, Taurine, Duk Soup... does that sound ok?

Sorry I have been distant lately, I am in the process of trying to find a job and I have been so busy after the move.
Thats such a sad story, Im happy you got her out of there!!
You can get syringes anywhere (I usually get them at drs foster and smith online but they probably have them at your local pet store too) All of the stuff you mentioned sounds good but make sure its blended to liquid, then just feed as much as you can (as much as she will eat)....she might not take alot in one sitting so you may need to do it a couple times a couple mins between each one.....I would try to feed like half a dixie cup full for one feeding and try to do it 2-3 times a day
LEt me know how it goes

No, def not. She was getting good about eating the chicken soupie out of a spoon or small saucer, but since Beatrice died it has been impossible. She likes nothing...no treats or oils... only ferret lax, which isn't a treat at all! Idk she really makes me sad. I could used to offer it on my finger while holding her to get her started eating it, but she doesn't even do that.

Ok she may be going through some psychological issues with the loss of Beatrice.....honestly I would keep her on kibble for a while to see if things start to look up for her.....shes too stressed right now to carry on with her switch

Everything is going all right with the weasels. I have hardly any time to get on bc I have been busy with final projects...next week is the last week of the semester All the ferrets except Badger are eating raw. I found some turkey necks at the store and am excited to try them out. MegaWeasel got off track actually when I started feeding them some turkey I noticed he was sneaking kibble, so I have to keep my eye on him! He prefers chicken over anything. I did FINALLY get Badger to eat salmon oil...it took me months of working with her for her to eat it, so it is nice I have found something to reward her with!! I have been slowly getting her back to at least tasting the ground chicken and duk soup mix. She has gotten to be a little more playful and seems to enjoy sitting in my lap now. Her tail fur grew back!! But her fur still isn't very soft to compared to everyone else. I just wish she would switch bc I know the others sneak kibble, but I don't want to separate them while in the cage bc I am afraid that would just cause her more anxiety.

Yea I totally understand about the kibble issue but its better shes on it for now, it seems like shes much less stressed out! you can probably graduate if you want.....then later on (that is if you plan on it or want to) you can start up again a thread for just Badger....just an idea...let me know
