i use ferretvite as a treat more so than anything else, my ferrets took to it faster then tone. i suppose you dont need either but i dont know that vite would be harmful if you didnt feed it all the time. i feel like sometimes kids just need a piece of candy i use it mostly to encourage everyone to use the litterboxxes when out of the cage

I get mine at the pet food store where I get all my commercial raw foods. They carry raw foods, homeopathics, Balk remedies, vitamins and minerals all that sort of stuff. Rather like a health food store for pets You can use any small marine fish oil. Capsules are messy but you can empty it out on their food. I buy it as a liquid and use a syringe to pull the amount, which the brats then lick off the syringe ciao

I had no idea that tone' had cancer causing agents. I will not be buying it again. After my bottle is gone, I'll switch to evoo and fish oil

Don't use ferretone. It is no good. I just give mine a few drops of Lambert Kay linatone. I use the shiny coat formula. But just a few drops as a treat. They LOVE linatone. It is like crack for ferrets! I hear that totally ferret vivify is good. They have one with emu oil (ferrets love emu oil). Ferretvite is awful -pure sugar. So is nutri-cal. Avoid them. Anyway, if you feed Evo, orijen, or raw (even freeze dried raw) then you won't need to give them essential fatty acids or vitamins. Although, I would give 250-300 mg of taurine every day. It won't hurt. You can buy taurine at a vitamin store.
