The same goes for here in Sarasota, FL. Fancies are priced higher than sables. This goes for all pet stores. OMG I was born in the Sarasota, Bradenton area! COOL! Any how, all the ferrets are priced the same here too. I WISH it was only $119. They charge $179 here. None of my Marshall's have toe tattoos. And I still haven't heard back from Marshall either regarding the E-mail I sent.

Awesome! I moved here about 2 years ago for college (I go to NCF off university). I used to live in Homestead (Miami dade area) and I'm originally from Boca Raton. I love Sarasota the most. Nice to meet a fellow Sarasotian! How long ago did you live here?

Oh goodness it was YEARS ago!. I was 10 when we moved here to Ga. So it was 17 years ago. The house we lived in was like 2 blocks down the road from Manatee county high school. I haven't been down that way in like for ever. My grandparents used to live in Miacca which isn't all THAT far from Bradenton, so we were able to visit in Bradenton as well when we visited there. But they moved to closer to Gainsville. So I haven't been there in quite a few years. I'd like to take my husband one day though to see where I was born.

They are all $179 at petland but pet super market is ab $119 for regular and $139 for fancies I was wondering ab the toe tats but yea they are hard to see. Megaweasel has a big one... like someone was drunk when they did it.

Well I assumed that because they had ear tattoo's they wouldn't have toe tattoo's so I've checked again! So here are the results:
Ping Female 5-ish years old 1 lb 12 oz Sliver Panda no known health issues but she is my suspected Waardenburg fuzz tattoo is on her left hind foot on her "ring" toe, she also has the two ear tattoo's
Gabby Female 3-4 years old 1 lb 12 oz Silver Panda no known health issues tattoo is on her left hind foot on her "ring" toe she also has the two ear tattoo's
Now I also have two marked DEW's that do not have toe tattoo's both female and two Cinnamon/Champange female's that do not have toe tattoo's either. I would consider those 4 to be fancy...I think...

WOW $179 is good! the pet storehere has them for $249
as for tattoos....
Zeke 1.5 yrs, male almost 4lbs I can't find any tattoos on him, and he is suppose to be a real canadian ferret no known health issues
Sadie 3ish, female 1.5 lbs suppose to be marshals has two dots ear tat, and a tat on her left foot some issues with health, haven't figured out exactly yet looking at food sensitivities/ibs
Neka 7 months, male 2.5lbs real canadian ferret has a line tat on his right ear no health issues known
trix (rip) 6ish, female 1.5lbs marshals had right ear tat, dont remember seeing any others lots of health issues (insulinoma, lyphoma)

Ok, here is another idea. My ferret with the toe tat had only ONE dot on his ear. The rest have had TWO dots in their ears and no toe dots. So maybe, when they neuter/spay and de-scent, some of their vets put both tattoo dots on the ear and others put one on the ear and one on the toe? Everyone check and let me know.

If you check closely, RC ferrets have a bar tat in the one ear. I would have to catch up with Captain Jack to find out which ear. It sometimes hides in the ear fold but that is their tat (just like marshals is the double dot). Path Valley doesn't tat their fuzzes ciao

I had heard that depending on the toe was a certain vet. The suggestion was new vets (or those in training under marshals) as in newly hired . Has marshals got back to you yet? ciao

Other theories I've heard is the tat's are related to certain breeding lines, or genetic risks, or even the location they are to be shipped to. Unfortunately, unless Marshall's actually comes out and tells us, it's going to be a guessing game
