Is this something Kmart or a drug store would have? I checked Kmart today and didn't see any, but they seemed low on stock as well. If not where to order from? Brand? I haven't seen much for organs for sale at my grocery store, there's beef and chicken liver and turkey and chicken gizzards, but not heart or anything. I need to ask the butcher guy next time and see if that's something I can get from them.

I didn't know it came in liquid. It doesn't break down or whatever in that form? Do you just put it in soup then or how are you dosing? Everything I'd read about it was in powder form and mixed into ground or sprinkled over meat or the like.

I can pick up powdered taurine from a local health food store.

Mine get whole prey so it's not really feasible to put it directly on their food and be sure they're each getting their share. I sprinkle taurine powder and ground eggshell onto a strip of chicken fat and hand feed it to the fuzz and kitten. That way it's like a treat. They love it

I buy the taurine capsules online from the vitamin shoppers also! Lol. Well, the thing with the ferrets is that sometimes the taurine powder from the capsules is bitter. I don't have that problem with the liquid. I make soupies once a day and I put it in there. I use the instructions for cat dosing. No it does not break down. Not sure what you mean by that. Taurine is water soluble. This is the same liquid taurine that one of my vets used. I saw the bottle in his office and wrote the website down. Lol. Actually, the bottle reads "for veterinary use." But i was able to order it from the website. I have used the powder capsules also. But liquid is just easier for me. Go on www.harlmen.com they have more info about the liquid taurine and they have an email if you have any questions. I am sure both work equally as good.

Anyone know where to order in Canada? shipping charges are too much from the states (when they will even send it this way) I've tried the local health stores, with no luck even on pet store that carries the bone meal couldn't get it.

Are you near a GNC? Their site (gnc.com) has a store locator and they're in Canada too, that's where I buy my taurine supplements.

In the health food store, I actually had to ask for it. The bottle looks the same as dozens of other bottles around it, so I couldn't find it on my own

o.k. Um, I gotta ask... WHY? Pills? And what are they using for a binder? Cellulose (plant or paper)? If liquid is it an extract? Which means alcohol. Is it glycol? Is there sugar or starch added?. Why so much effort to locate a pill or drops when chicken heart, turkey heart can be located with a simple phone call to any grocer or butcher? Taurine is present in ALL meats - just MORE of it in dark meats (supposedly). So why deny your ferret the benefit of obtaining taurine(and other meaty goodness) like vitamins, minerals, dietary moisture and oral health just to substitute with a questionable source? I don't get it.

People aren't exclusively relying on it for their taurine intake-but sometimes, people such as myself have limited access to hearts. There aren't any butchers in town, and for the life of me, and I've had no luck asking butchers at stores for them. Even the college farm does away with all of their other stuff privately. I can't get chicken hearts exclusively from the grocery store, only gizzards and hearts, and there are like three in a package. Just not enough-sure, it's a good idea to look at the other ingredients and binders in a drug/supplement-but sometimes, supplementation is necessary.
