Hey all, Dingo keeps getting what my vet called shealth infections. He's adrenal and has had the infections before. Do you think they are from dripping pee? His..umm thing also is a abnormal shape. Usualy you can't really feel the weasels thing but his is bigger at the end. None of my vets really have said anything about it. I have this ointment that I put in the sheath. It's panolog ointment. I feel like I'm molesting the poor boy. He sure looks at me with a "I hate you.." everytime I have to give him medication. Also...He has this small bump on the inside of his eye lid. It never gives him trouble, has grown, or gotten smaller. The meds I had for it didn't do anything. It just made him pissed at being pumped with ulcer meds, eye goop, and a tube stuck into his sheath.

So it's a UTI? When i first took Jack to my vet, she went over some of the common ferret health problems, and for the males, UTIs she said were one of the most common for me to expect. She said because the males urethra is so long a common solution is to surgically shorten it. Has your vet mentioned this? or am I completely on the wrong infection?

If Dingo keeps getting this infection, he may have a low-grade bladder infection that requires antibiotics. Did the test his pee?
The bump on the eye lid could be a gland if it's not red like a sty/infection. Ferrets do get little glands that swell around the upper eveli. This may be an immune-like response to infection allergies, or whatever. One of my first two boys got them rather often. If you can post a pictures, I'll let you know if the bump looks like what my boy would get. (It bothered me more than it did my boy, and the vet wasn't worried about it.

I will try to get a picture. And I will see if the meds work on the infection. I didn't get his pee tested because it went away the first time. It comes back every couple months, or whenever. Usualy when he shows signs of being adrenal. The three months with the melatonin made him fine for a while.
I'll try to get things up. But Tonight it hit me hard that I no longer have to give monster medication, or check his blood, or...
