You could always try the "scruff and stuff" method Have the soup ready, grab him, scruff him, and dab it on his nose, or rub some on his gums/tongue. Keep doing this over and over and over. Sooner or later, he'll reach a point where he will take some from your finger at least semi- willingly. Once he's taking it like that, use a spoon.

Y'know, I scruff him on a daily basis when he gets into stuff, I have dabbed his nose in stuff and usually he'll lick a little but not really go for it after (or he will endlessly lick the corners of his mouth trying to figure out what happened to his nose while Kahlua desprately attempts to lick it off of him) and i have tried forcing his jaws open and using a dropper to get him to eat stuff which is always a war and he ends up spitting it up anyway- HOWEVER never have I thought to mix it all together, this is an awsome idea and one of those "why didnt i think of that" moments lol. Thank you darlin

And please do not do the forced opening of the jaws. I know you aren't doing it hard, but they can break way too easily. If you have to give something by syringe, just place the syringe at the opening of the teeth near the back of their mouths from the side, and slowly squirt whatever you need to get into them crosswise of the mouth. That way, there's far less chance of aspiration.
