I picked up a 1 story FN from Craigslist this morning for $65. So excited. It's sitting outside on the porch until it warms up enough to clean and disinfect it. Hopefully this weekend.
The odd thing is that it's actually an FN 142 (according to the label) but it's only one level. Kinda like someone just rejiggered the pieces to make it one level instead of two.
I was planning on buy a 143 to expand it. Do you think that's going to be possible? Would I be able to attach two 143s to make it a 3 story eventually or will I just have to buy a 142/3?
I'm so excited that I'm already planning th bedding color schemes!

yay, congrats!
That is odd, though, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't buy two 143s. It should work, unless the previous owners did something exceedingly wonky to it to make it a one story (which I don't see why or how).
Your babes are going to love it!

Yes, you can attach 2 FN 143s to a 141. The one you have may have been a 142 but you only got the bottom level. Although I don't know what someone would do with just the top level of a 142.

The top level and the bottom level of mine both have the ferret nation 142 label on them... I'd make a guess that the company just produces one set of door panels and uses them for both models.

No idea but I'm pretty sure that I'm getting th cage 3rd hand at the very least. The woman I got it from told me she has two furbrats and bought them a two story ferret nation. Odd that she didn't just buy a 143 and save herself some money. No matter. I'm thrilled. I'm super neurotic about disease though so I wouldn't even let my husband carry it in the house. I even made him strip at the front door and threw everything in the wash immediately (twice because I couldn't bleach it)!

Two loads of laundry is muchhhh easier than ADV or distemper. I always err on the side of caution. Kudos to you for thinking ahead!

I finished the first step in cleaning my FN today. I spent about 45 minutes wiping the whole thing down with warm water and dawn detergent. I rinsed it off and now it's waiting for it's waiting for a spray with bleach. So excited!
I even ordered the redesigned shelf and litter latter too!
