Now he's just picking out the chunks of kibble. Guess I still have some work to do with him.

I think we devoted a whole thread to the unbelievable sleep positions that our furbrats considered comfortable (go for a prowl if you're interested). I couldn't agree more, if I slept in those positions my chiro would be getting a lot more of my time than he does now ciao

The little one is ultra adorable I am dying for a new baby but with 4 ferts 2 gerbils 2 rats and 1 snake i got way too many as it is.
With little ones the kibble is highly addictive to him and at his age he is most likely already imprinted on it and wont want anything else. I would try him on either boneless meat chunks. You will probably need to cut them into kibble size peices. Put just enough in the bowl that you can count the peices. Take away the kibble, check the cage and any area outside the cage he goes to and check for his kibble hoards. Ferrets love to hide food o save for later. A healthy ferret can go 24 hours without food. If in that time he doesn't eat any of the chunks at all then you can start to hand feed him. If you keep offering him kibble everyime he doesn't eat the raw he will never get switched because he will learn he can just wait and he will get it eventually.

Sounds like my little sister knowing if she whines enough she can get anything lol. I've gotten him to take raw chicken wings. I started with chunks like you said, but coated in finely ground up kibble. Tonight he took a sliced chicken wing with the bone broken up a little that was coated in ground up kibble. I'm gonna start mixing in the chicken hearts and chicken livers I have in my freezer gradually. I'm gonna try sprinkling in other meats this week as well.

At his age, I certainly wouldn't leave him 24 hours without food. He needs a ton of food for the energy kits have. Even a healthy adult, I wouldn't leave more than 12 hours, simply because of the dips in sugar levels it can trigger. A few hours, or at most overnight, but at his age, nothing longer.

I don't think he'd go that long without eating. I put a flapper with bone and everything in his bowl and there are only 2 little chunks left. Sooo cute!
