Start adding the different levels of your ferret nation? I know most of the people here have one or something similar. Cassiel is 8 weeks old and right now she is on just one level only with 2 litter boxes, the food corner and the bed corner. I tried the shelf but she was too scared to climb up or down it so I'm wondering if you all had the same issue and when you started adding the levels? I would obviously like her to eventually have the whole cage to roam. I got the FN 142.

I started with a 142-143 add-on and have put 3 kits and 5 rescues through it and had not a single accident.

I have the 142, and when I got Yogi and Sian as kits I allowed them to explore it all day (they were caged separately) for about a week, and then when I felt they could handle it (I watched them go up and down, etc), I put them in it and they were fine (they didn't seem scared, just exasperated that they couldn't do it the first time perfectly, LOL), so my experience was a bit different. I'd just let her have access to all parts during play time, etc, so she can practice, but put the ramp up at night, and just do that until she gets comfortable (and she will. If she's reluctant to go up and down the ramp, you might put a yummy smelling treat up there as an incentive). Just an idea

She'll get used to it When I got my first 142, they were all a bit older, so had no problems. Don't forget what puppies are like with stairs It takes a little time, but she'll do it. Just use an old tube sock to cover the ramp, so she gets a better grip than she would from the bare metal

Brady was about 8 weeks old when i brought him home and after a check-in with a vet I opened up the middle divider that was separating jack and Brady. Brady took to navigating the entire cage right away - he just did it a bit differently. He couldn't figure out the ramps so he would just climb up and hop down levels. Jack never did that great with the ramps either (they may too steep for them?) so i just took the ramps out. Cassiel sounds like she may be a bit stressed (from your other posts) so maybe she would do best in just half the cage for now? Just until she has had a chance to settle in.
