My name is Beth and my SO is Erica. At this time, we are owned by two fat siamese kitties and a few fishys. Neither of us have ever had ferrets. But they are DEF in our future. So we have been online doing as much research as we can to prepare ourselves. ;D

Welcome, guys. It seems I'm your state neighbor, here in KY! Ferrets are a bundle of fun, but they're also demanding in some ways. I'm glad to see you all doing your research beforehand!

Thank you for the warm welcomes. Yeah 3kaw, I was wanting to get A ferret, found out they were better in pairs. So I went to Erica to tell her we really need to get two. Before I had the chance she was telling me she wanted three. LoL And yes I see they full of laughs, love and trouble. heehee. N pricey. I have been doing most of the "window shopping" online for info, cages, toys, foods and of course the lil furballs. I have tons and tons of questions now and I know I will have more once when we get our babies.

Hi and welcome guys Please feel free to prowl about, read, check out threads, ask questions. People who are researching to see if furbabies fit into their lifestyle are always welcome. These little heartbreakers are a real blast to share a house with but one has to be informed, they are not for the faint of heart. I can't imagine life without them, love them to pieces but they cost a fortune to vet and one should really see them with their eyes wide open. I hope you enjoy your researching journey, and truthfully I hope they are indeed the pet for you. They really are a lot of fun ciao

Hi and welcome Glad to see your researching before getting them! One other avenue you can check out are shelters. They frequently have bonded pairs and trios, and can actually help you get accustomed to them as well. Please feel free to ask away That's what we're here for!

Hi and Welcome!! Ferrets are a handful but like Heather said I wouldn't live without them either! They can brighten my mood on my darkest days, but will drive me crazy getting themselves into trouble!!

Welcome to the forum!
Online research is definitely a great start but I'd also recommend reading Ferrets for Dummies, 2nd Edition by Kim Schilling. Easily one of the best books written on ferret care. It goes over all the basics and then some. There are aspects of ferret care you'd never think to ask about. But if you do have questions, feel free to ask them here. Everyone is friendly and helpful and no question is considered silly.
