So, I decided around 8:30 tonight that I was going to assemble Hiko's cage BY MYSELF :-\ I got done a little bit ago, so it took me about 3 hours, and I'm happy it's actually up, but I think I'm slightly traumatized. But anyway! Here's a pic: I wanted bedding that the Triad haven't used, so Hiko has a clean slate to get his smell on. It's kinda ... messy, but his LFFR bedding will be coming later in the week/next week, so we gotta live with this for now. He's been in it once, but I'm waiting to put it in the room after the Triad go to bed.

Looking good I had to assemble mine on my own too. They're not that bad. I did find that I had installed the doors on upside down and had to disassemble I got my cages with some rescues so there were no instructions. The first one, I had never seen one before so I was flying a bit blind. The second one, at least I had done this before I notice that they've now got instructions on their web page. ciao

That's great that you were able to do it on your own As for the bedding, things like LFFR are for US after all- he's really not going to care

I love the cages, but assembling them's a nightmare. Plus, you can't (or at least I can't) do it like the directions say, because it never works! It just collapses. Once I sat back and worked it out my way, it went a LOT smoother. ... hopefully I'll never have to disassemble these ;D

They love to sleep in one thing for a day or two then another then another- they LOVE having choice, :-)

Here's a few new pics of the new bedding: And, have a pic of the Triad cage: (the pillow case upstairs is Yogi's, and he stole it from me the day he came home. He'll carry it around to different sleep spots to snuggle with when Pixie's not in the mood to cuddle). Right now, Hiko's cage is still shut up when everyone's out. I want his scent to be the strongest, but Yogs has settled down a lot and Hiko loves being able to sleep with the Triad in *their* cage, with ... minimal fuss.

I assembled my FN 142 by myself because it was the middle of the night and everyone was sleeping but I wanted it put together It was alright except the parts where you need to hold three pieces together while screwing them in. I was pretty frustrated by the end but I got it done

thanks, sherrylynne, and yeah - Hiko loves his cuddly cup. He's always in it bluemoose - god, that was the worse. I bruised and beat up the next day from sides falling on me while I was trying to put it together. At least the result is worth it, though!

Bedding is adorable. What are those things you are using for litter pans?

Thanks, guys And the litterboxes are these: www.craftycreatures.com/forferretsonly/accessories/custom_commode.htmlThey are expensive if you get the FN ones, but I have went 2 years with 2 of my guys pooing on contractor's paper in the cage b/c they hated any and all litterboxes. The paper worked, but it was so yuck to deal with and it didn't protect the tray underneath. I bought this and have had no accidents. Everyone used it C: I love them, personally, though $60 + shipping is a lot of money to spend! Who knows, if you're handy you could probably come up with a similar design, and yo might save some money (although around here, thick plexiglass is rather expensive in and of itself)

Those are some expensive litter pans. I think I just keep the one they have.

If they're consistent with the ones you have, I'd def. keep using them - no need to spend so much on a toilet, LOL!
