I brought Rikku out and his tail got all fluffed up and I started a burrow for him. He started to dig in it. But after that he started to go towards the door and when I brought him in he was shivering.

Fluffed up tail was probably just because he was excited. He was probably intriqued by the snow but then surprised when it was cold I wouldn't rule out snow play times based on the first experience. He may just need to get used to it. But of course don't let him play in the snow too long and get too cold.

Sian'll do the same thing, dig and burrow and scoot around with her tail puffed. The shaking (for her) begins as excitement, but - if out for long enough - because she gets cold, which is normal.
She'd back up, and go toward the door, but then she'd veer off and head back toward the yard. If he does that (heads back out toward it, if you wait), that means he's fine, if he hangs around the door, scratches or what not, maybe he's not so psyched (both my boys hate it; my girls love it).

The ones I have who love the snow dig, burrow, and tunnel. The ones who don't will either try to climb me, or run right back to the door

Shiloh loved it, which is great, because they might not see snow again for another few years if hubby and I move to Arizona. I want them to all be able to experience it just in case, because if we do move, it really doesn't snow much, except for in the mountains. And even that snow isn't really cold or wet-it's like dry snow, almost fake stuff that doesn't stick. Also, I'll miss the snow. But, Shiloh puffed her tail and went straight to digging in it. She eventually went for the door, but that was because she was cold, and it was a good ten minutes. Fiddler also loved it. Hiro and Oz are due for their snow playtime tomorrow.

We just got 20" dumped on us. I let the girls walk out onto the deck. They like playing in it for very short periods of time. It was very obvious when they'd had enough.

He seemed to have fun for a few minutes but them all of a sudden he wanted to come back inside. I will try again tomorrow and see what he does. I also need to get smaller harnesses so the girls can go out. Only my fatty Rikku cant slip out of the harness that I have.

Aww. I really need to get a better harness so I can take my fuzzies outside to play in the snow. With all the digging the do in their litter box, they'll probably enjoy it.

You can also bring the snow in, and dump it in the tub, or in the shower for them to dig and tunnel in
