Well, if you get the FN141, that's a good deal, but if you get the 142 I'd go with ferret.com, since they have the two stories for $200.
Which one you get is up to you, although I personally think you get a better deal with the 142, because if you get another fert (or three) down the road, you have the room, whereas with the 141, you'd have to add on, and the 143 models (which are the add ons for existing cages) cost $90 (last time I checked, anyway), so you end up paying more for what amounts to the exact same cage.
Just my thought!

I bought the FN142 from ferret.com for $199 plus free shipping and it came with a shark sleepy bed. That was last year when I only had one ferret. I liked having such a large cage for him because i didn't feel sooooo guilty leaving him in there while i was at work. It also gave me plenty of places to hang hammocks and such so he could choose where to sleep as his mood changed. Of course, its also nice having an investment your family can grow into (when you add more brats).

Even with one ferret, I'd go for the 142. So much more room to play and move around when they have to be in cage.

Sounds like the 142 wins out. Now it seems that the ramp locks to separate the portions? Does this make it easier for litter training?

I can't imagine keeping Koda in just a FN 141! haha They have been contained in the bottom level for potty training reasons (so yes to your question lol) and it is driving Koda mad already!

I ordered the FN 142 on Friday, it will be here today!!! I plan to lock out the bottom area for litter training. The top area for the time being I will actually use for my cat as a time out area. I've heard time outs in an enclosed space really help! Then when the little fert is litter trained, he/she will get the whole cage! I'm so excited to build it today!

Time outs do help kittens as well as ferrets We used to do that with a couple of ours as babies. It worked!

You know, for some reason, I never once thought of doing that with kittens....it probably would have helped. A lot :-\

One of my cats also likes the FN. He's too big to get up top very easily, though

She's a silver bengal cat. Worth every penny and they are EXTREMELY intelligent. I swear she's like a person. She's the second bengal I've had and I will never go back to a normal cat.
