I know that this is a very serious topic, but I saw picture of ferret feet and got all excited. THEY ARE SO CUTE. Something about little animal toes, just can't put my finger on it. Same with kitten feet and puppy paws. Ugh. SO cute. <3

Lol, these pics aren't the nicest of ferret feet out there, all tumor-ey and icky. Anyways post surgery photos finally, she is back with the rest of the crew and not favoring it although the wound still looks icky and is a little bit swollen.

The foot does appear to be healing, is there anything that you're supposed to be cleaning it with, ointments?? ciao

These were the day of surgery shots, since they flapped her skin over the incision they didn't want anything on it, and probably because it wouldn't stay on anyways. It looks pretty good now, a few days past these pics. Still haven't heard back on results though.

looks like a good job with the surgery. It' been my experince that paw pad stictches are the WORST for ferrets...they get red and puffed up, and tey take a wile to start healing compared to stitches elsewhere. I assume this is because the get walked on - weight and germs - great combo for healing - NOT!!! I've had good luck cleaning foot stitches with hydrogen peroxide. -jennifer

Wow her foot looks good even for just after the removal. How long did it take before she was acting like herself? Surgery scares the crap out of me, I'm so stressed cause Sid gets his lump removed in a week.

Well we brought her home only a few hours after surgery, she was up, although drowsy but that night she was already chasing after the cat and walking on it. Obviously favoring it quite a bit day one, little bit day two and it was quite swollen then, it's been four days now and you'd never know by how she acts. But I remember several years back we had a adrenalectomy done on a different ferret and she was back with the crew like nothing happened within a few days, if they are healthy and strong they bounce back really fast.

Update, biopsy came back good, sebaceous gland adenoma that is benign with clear margins. Pretty much what we expected but good to hear.

That is such good news. Give her a big hug. With all the problems that these little ones have that type of news is always good ciao

SWEET!!!!! That's great news. It looked a sebaceous tumor, but it's always great to get the good news and know that the margins were clean. -jennifer
