I have been a reptile nut for a long time now, and was wandering if anyone else on here kept them. Here are a few pics of my reptilian family. The first, current, reptile that I got is my female beardie, Ganymede. The day I brought her home. First day in her new 4'x2'x20" cage. She's a born rider. "You found me." Making a mess in her lay box. I don't have any really current pics her, the newest ones here are a few months old. I'm actually having some problems with her. I thought she may have been gravid, so I gave her a lay box. But no eggs, I'm hoping she was going through a phase and is now just slowing down with the winter.

I got my second beardie about a month later. My big male Callisto. First day I brought him home. Escape artist. He does this with his tail from time to time, kinda weird. "Hi" He just landed from a hop from the other side of the cage haha. I'm having problems with him as well. He just won't eat anymore, he hasn't been for months. Idk if I'm just a bad beardie keeper or what. I've been through tons of uvb bulbs, and taken him to the vet a couple times, described everything from husbandry to symptoms, and all he says is to keep force feeding him and he should start eating on his own eventually. It makes me sad that both my beardies aren't doing well and I can't get them better.

And how bout some of them together. The day I brought Callisto home. Drying off after a bath, Ganymede was still larger than Callisto. They used to not mind each other. Can't be comfortable for Callisto. Callisto finally starting to out-grow Ganymede. Up until then they tolerated each other quite nicely. But Callisto began to hit "lizard puberty" and became very territorial and aggressive sexually and territorially. They each now have their own 4'x2'x20" cages.

I don't personally have any reptiles, but I am a fan. And I don't want to be a huge downer, but my brother's beardie just passed away yesterday. Same thing, sort of inactive, and went on random hunger strikes. She'd eat really well, and then she'd quit. She looked sort of pale to me, but when he took her to the vet the vet said she was fine, just probably adjusting to the season. Day before yesterday she ate good... then yesterday she was gone... He's debating on whether he wants another one or not. Yours sure are pretty!

A few months later came my leopard gecko Enceladus. First night at home. "Get me out, please." His bathroom. He will only poop in that bowl, so it makes clean up really easy lol. "Put the cover back." This pic is from last night. He's grown a lot, and his tail is so fat. He is the friendliest little guy once he got used to me, and has the goofiest personality.

And the newest addition, my B/W tegu Apophis. On the way home from the post office. It was too hot for him to be sent directly to my door. Groggy after being in a box and traveling hundreds of miles. Starting to wake up a little after warming up. He loves his tunneling. He's getting a little bigger. He's been dug in for hibernation for about a month now. I expect to see him again sometime in March.

O, can't forget this one. Callisto saying, "Who's this little guy?" Little does he know that this little guy will be about four times his length and over ten times his weight lol.

And sorry to hear about your friends beardie.

Keeping reptiles with ferrets scares me In the rescue, we have one guy who came to us in very bad shape. See, his past owners kept reptile and ferret in the same house. The ferret, Arthur (previously Blaze), thought the reptile would make a good snack. He ate the firebellied newt. If you do not know, firebellied newts are poisonous, and ferrets will die right away. For whatever reason, the vets could not explain it, Arthur lived. He now has scabs all over his body from a bacterial infection, and was in pain for the longest time. He is finally starting to get better.

My ferret would never have access to any of the reptiles and vise-verse, just as the reptiles don't have access to each other.

Nice beardies. I've always wanted one but I don't have space for a large cage. I also love Enceladus. I just have a couple snakes. Balthamos the California King Snake I caught in the yard. She got that name before I knew she was female. Nergal the Green Tree Python. And my recently deceased, unnamed Gold Dust Day Gecko. The bird and reptiles never come into contact with the ferrets. I know many people don't trust dogs around their ferrets and that's probably a good policy.

Ya, the beardie cages are kinda big, but not too bad...My tegu's new cage I'm working on is pretty big, about 6'x5'x3'. It works out though, I'm building it so that my queen size mattress will be on top of it. So basically the tegu cage will be my box-spring lol. I have the bed portion done and am sleeping on it, just gotta get to work on the enclosure portion. I'll add some pics of it. And I got my first snake back when I was like 14 almost the same why you got your king snake lol. Found a 3ish' ball python in the garage. We tracked down the owner who was an elderly neighbor, and he said that I could have it if I gave it a good home. I miss him. And that green tree python is a beauty, I would love to have one of those.

I had another smaller King Snake and a Gopher Snake from the yard but my father said we had too many so those ones returned to the wild. Also had a Trans-Pecos Rat Snake at one time.
Wow that's a clever idea for an enclosure. Definitely take some more pictures when it's done. Can't wait to see what it looks like completed.

And my parents aren't really liking the amount of animals that are coming into the house lol. But the reptiles don't smell, make much noise, and can't escape in the cages that they're in, so they don't really mind. I'm probably gonna stop adding animals until I move out after getting my ferret though, don't wanna push them too hard lol.
