I already make a soup that my ferrets love. But is there a raw recipe out there? Also can I add kibble to it, to get them to try it at first? Also how do you store it, do you just freeze it after you make it? Right now I make soup every 3-4 days for my crew and keep it in the fridge. Is meat from the grocery store OK? Or should I get some from a place that has really fresh meat? Thanks so much

I just pick their meat up when I'm doing my own shopping. I'm too lazy to make separate trips to others stores very often You can start with a cooked or raw soup that contains kibbles if you like, although since it will take some work anyway, you'd almost be further ahead to start off with the plain raw soups. Fewer steps, that way. Regardless of which you start them with, you'll likely have to go the scruff and nose dab routine anyway. For a raw soup, I use a couple of chicken thighs, deboned and pureed. Add a couple of chicken hearts and a liver, about 1/2 tsp powdered eggshell, puree everything together, and then freeze in ice cube trays. Once it's all frozen, baggie it. That way, you only take out what you need for the next feeding!

Thanks, I'll try that out on the weekend. I have to make cooked soup anyway, so I'll leave a chicken thigh out, and pick up some hearts and livers. I'm sure Sid will try it, no problem. I'll do the ferretone trick. It's how I got them to try cooked soup. Little ferretone on one side of the plate, soup on the other, then spin it when they are enjoying, and it seemed to work well. Anyway, wish me luck.

Don't forget those egg shells though. They're an important part of the equation and are often forgotten. Do keep us posted as to how it goes. I use that recipe to switch all my furkids and I know it's been well received by many of the little furbabies on this list. Good luck ciao
