So the other day my blender died So I had to hand chop all of Mr. Bean's food. I chopped a chicken heart in half and this is what it looked like: I didn't use it but the only thing I can come up with is maybe this poor chicken had a heart attack? Thats the only thing I can think of that would make the heart look like this.. On top of the blender dieing and having to chop the food... I missed a bone and the knife slipped and well here is the end result. Can you say OUCH!!! Oh and FYI I bleach and throw that cutting board in the dish washer so no worried about it being plastic.

It's a good thing that factory chickens don't get much of a chance to exercise The poor thing must have spent most of it's short life light headed or passed out. Your poor finger. I hope it heals quickly. I've had my share of those...one of the "dangers" of raw feeding and certainly not the one everyone warns you about ciao

Its healing pretty good, its been a few days since this happened, I just finally had time to upload the photos. I agree that poor chicken was probably pretty dizzy.

VERY VERY well, and after I washed it out I let it bleed for a little while. Over the last few days I have been cleaning it and putting some peroxide(sp?) on in as well.

the joys of raw feeding! I've had my fair share over the past few years of cuts and I'm super clumsy to the point that my mil doesn't let me use knives at her house! I'm the same way with my cutting boards, they all get bleached and tossed into the dishwasher...and when I'm storing my furkids food, it's in disposable ziploc type bags (I'm too cheap to buy name brands!) and the bags are then stored in metal mixing bowls when they are defrosted and in the kitchen refridgerator, the laundry room fridge is strictly for dog and ferret food so if it defrosts and leaks in there I don't care... and yes the laundry room fridge is yucky...

Peroxide too often is actually bad as it kills the good germs and the bad, and can kill developing tissue making it take longer to heal. A doctor told me that btw so I'm not just making it up. haha I would put some neosporin on it maybe and just let your body do it's thing. Looks like it hurt!
