He does eat a fair bit, but i have to hold him still and hand feed him. Other wise he takes two bits then runs off playing. When i hold him he will eat over an ounce at a time, and i try to do this several times today. as well i am leaving lots more in the cage then i use to at night. Zeke and sadie getting better about eating left overs as well. Zeke ate a good size piece of bone today that was in the mix. trix back to eating soup, no syringe feeding today, as well getting a few bits of raw in there, and she'll eat small chunks just need to hand feed them to her.

Nothing new. Still holding where we are for a bit. No signs of issues with the new guy being accepted etc. he's been here a week. So thinking of changing the food in a few days see how they take to it.

Sounds like a good plan. He's eating a good amount for a youngster with tons of energy. Is there a good bit of fat on their meats?

hmm fat.... there is a fair bit of fat in soup. the ground stuff, like chicken, veal and pork have a good amount of fat. Though it`s not something extra i`ve added to most meals. Is it something that Neka needs more of or for all of them?

It sounds like they're getting enough. Our little obligate carnivores use fat for energy, so it needs to be a big part of their diet. Just don't bother trimming any fat off or removing skin from the meats and you should be in good shape.

Sounds good that`s what I`ve been doing... or not doing LOL (triming fat that is!) We`ve got a new cage and it`s working out well, cause Trix has a whole floor to her self now. She seems less .... stressed i guess though i dontknow that i would have thought she was stressed before. She's eating well and holding her own. Zeke not thrilled with new cage yet, some protest poops. Zekealso got a good dose of pumpkin yesterday. He was cough/gagging at breakfast. Nothing came up and he seemed fine after, but i dosed him with the pumpkin after his miniscule poop. So he had a HUGE orangy poop... which was all over the cage ... So was it he pumpkin or the cage that made him miss? lol

Probably a little hairball. And I'm guessing it was a little tantrum, not the pumpkin. Little stinker.

They are eating well, neka had a chicken wing tip again, the others ignored it lol I went with some slightly chunkier pieces instead of lower the soup yet, as they are getting so little soup. They will eat most of the chunks when hand fed. Going to have to work at independant feedings but I'm okay with this for now. I gave them a chuck of beef that was meant for the dogs, neka and zeke licked it to death but could not figure out how to bite it lol at least they seemed to know it was food. lol

My girls are so funny with beef and lamb. I have to cut it into half the size I normally would for some reason.

Yes they definately seem to have things they dont like. For sadie it seems to be turkey neck. THough i usually mix two meats, it's hard to say for sure but that seems to be the common one for her. Nothing new. Found a bit of ground bison at the butcher so that will be their christmas treat lol Just so you know there may be a few days over the holidays that will be difficult to get online (family coming and all) But i will do my best.

No problem. I know you're on board and the holidays get hectic.
When you offer a meat that they don't particularly like do any of them sniff it and then very slowly turn their head away? I love that. It cracks me up. It's like they're trying not to hurt my feelings, but they just really don't like it. "Sorry Mom. I WOULD, but I just CAN'T." Funny critters they are.

yes they sniff it like they might actually eat it then turn away with a 'really you want me to eat that' look. lol sadie will take a bite then back away like it was pure vinegar. lol They are doing really well... except for the hand feeding LOL we'll see how the relatives feel about that during christmas, i can already hear the complaints. My main issue right now is with one of my dogs. I have been allowing the dogs to finish off anything the ferrets either wont eat or don't eat. so now she has decided her food is not good enough with out some soupie's on it. I have no problem waiting her out though, she'll eat when she gets hungry enough, cause i've stopped giving them ferret left overs.

Trixie poop is off, well everything is off with her. She's refusing to eat, then will eat fine then will only eat the raw, then refusing to eat. So every feeding time I don't know what to expect. The refusal is worse then I've seen it before. Last time I could syringe some food in, this time she fights and wants down. Her poops have been super stinky, and more mustardy, and a little seedy. Ulce seen pics of seedy poop and it looks a bit like that, with less seedy parts make sense? Is this due to her illness, her refusal to eat or could it be a response to what. She is eating? She gets mostly chicken and some duck.
Sorry about any typos on my phone at almost 3 am, just got in from a fund raiser I volunteer at, ill fix tomorrow lol.
