I guess I just consider ellipses before a statement to signify anger/irritation ect. So to me it sounded accusatory. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Safe is a matter of opinion. There are certainly areas where the risk is incredibly low. As Heather stated, it's a matter of weighing the risk of heartworm against the risk of negative effects from the drugs. www.knowheartworms.org/images/map.gif

Same here. Night temperatures are seldom above 60 F, even in the summer here. Between that, and we have basically NO time stretch in the year where we are guaranteed NOT to have snow Yes- we've even had a snowstorm in July before

EWWWWW!!!That's right you're out west They can have snow all year....bleck!!! (note I did say "can" and not "do", they also have some of the weirdest weather on the planet in the winter ) Your mosquitoes also wear furcoats and you grow blackflies as big as small dogs ...ohhhh right, that's us That's why the furbrats aren't allowed to play outside at dusk....that and the pair of weasels that live in my garage would probably "eat" my furbabies (there are things worse than mosquitoes ) All humour aside, you can work so even in high risk areas that your risks are lower. The biggest thing, know thine enemy. Don't take the information from the heartworm drug sites as law, really learn about the beaties within. Learn about the drug or in this case the pesticide that you're putting into your furkids. Weigh your options. Only you can decide which risks you're willing to bear. I'm comfortable with mine and don't feel I have to defend them. I researched for years, played on some holistic lists that had only one way to think.....their way. We play nice here, most times anyway I learned a lot from these lists though. They have access to sites that we can't even begin to find and information that is more than a little scary. ciao

Hey- our mosqitoes do so wear fur coats!!! And the info I've seen just the Pet Food List people pull up is mind boggling, so I can just imagine someone even more militant than they are. They would get the real scary goods on some of this stuff.
