Hey there. I don't have a picture of 'Oatmeal' yet, but I'll work on getting one soon.
I've been told Oatmeal is about a year old, and from a pet store. I don't have papers for her, but I do believe this to be true after having to talk to her old owner so much.
I originally got Oatmeal to be a companion for my currently ferret, Larka. This is not working out. Larka is a very calm, gentle ferret. Oatmeal is the psycho playful dominating kind.
You can read about their issues together here: holisticferret.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=talking&thread=5720&page=1#56944
I have Larka kept in a 6 x 6 foot pen in my room, the space was originally designed for two ferrets. Oatmeal is currently in a hastily crafted, slightly smaller pen beside Larka's as they can't be together.
I think Oatmeal would do well with another tough, high energy ferret, maybe a male. Or alone with somebody who can play lots with her. LOTS. She's two pounds, eats anything, and will kill mice quicky before eating them head first.
She has some litter problems, but I found less accidents after I added a few more litter boxes around for her to use.
She LOVES to play, explore, stash, lightly chew your feet, and will get right up in your face to sniff and kiss you all over, eyes and ears included. I'd really do adore her, but she is not the ferret Larka and I needed in our house.
I live in North Bay, Ontario, about 3 1/2 hours away from Toronto, 1 1/2 away from Sudbury, for some reference as to where that is.
Oatmeal is currently eating anything I give her (So far: Frozen thawed mice, live mice, bone in chicken, chicken giblets and hearts, steak, and liver). Basically, if something is edible (and if it's not but chews like it is), this ferret will eat it. I'd love to find somebody on this forum to take her so she can continue to eat like a real ferret, but will have to throw her up on kijiji again if I cannot.
She's really an awesome ferret, but Larka is my first priority, as the whole reason for me getting a second ferret was so Larka would have a companion while I'm in class. Now I've just ended up with two ferrets to care for.
Thanks for the time!
