what to do about this....
ok someone gave us a freshly killed bunny for the ferret. its a juvenile so not very big, already cleaned but still has the fur, head, legs etc..
and Sookie luuuuuuuvs her new "toy"! she actually dooked for the first time!
but the husband does not care for the situation. cant say i really blame him either lol
other than an old tshirt and tennis shoe, this is the first thing she shows interest in playing with.
its a small bunny so i cut it in half but still left the fur/head/legs on it and she plays at eating, or plays with it- attack mode-... and after she's "killed" it she chews a bit then tries to stash it.
what got my husband upset was when she dragged it off the towel and made a dash behind the sofa with it
i know the sensible thing would be to keep her in the cage while she has her fun, but once i shut the door she forgets the bunny, chews the bars and then goes to her hammock to sleep
since she isnt a totally raw fed ferret yet should i just put the bunny in a freezer bag and in the freezer until later when she shows more enthusiasm over eating it? because i'm thinking right now its more food than one little ferret can handle, even for a small bunny.
or should i just put it in the fridge for tonight and tomorrow let her stay in the master bathroom until she's had her fun? - i'm not worried about her hiding it in there, and i can mop later-
or should i just leave it in her cage and let her have at it tonight after she's done sulking??(i did remove the food bowl of kibble while she has the meat in there)
this would be a no brainer if it was a little mouse, but this is quite a bit bigger...
at first i was just going to leave it in there tonight and then throw it out tomorrow but again my husband doesnt like the idea of a dead rabbit in the house lol
sooo, here i am asking for some advice!
i like that she's happy and acting like a ferret should with this new and exciting thing, but...... i'd like everyone to be happy
