So I know that the amount of food a ferret will eat in one day depends on the individual ferret. However, I am interested in how much more or less they eat when getting only whole prey versus only franken prey. Typically the idea is, the more nutrient rich the food, the less they need to eat - like herbivores eat constantly since the plants are soo poor in Nitrogen and proteins. Because a prey item is a completely balanced meal in terms of muscle, bone, meat, and is closer to their natural diet do you guys find that ferrets who get primarily or only whole prey eat less overall than ferrets who eat only or primarily franken prey? Did anyone here go from a franke prey raw meat diet or freeze dried diet, to a whole prey only diet and notice a change in the amount they eat?

Seasonal. I see no difference in the amounts they eat between commercial raw vs frankenprey vs prey. It all balances in the end. The only times that I notice fluctuating amounts is seasonal or illnesses. ciao
