Only rule for organs is no more than one chicken liver sized piece of liver once a week, same amount for other organs. I've got a couple who only eat the heads and legs, but will leave the bodies for the rest to clean up

well i only got the tail left, which seriously creeped me out to clean up. :S
for the mice, im thinking of stocking up on them, would an adult mouse be enough for one meal? or is that too much?

Just popped in...sherrylynne's computer is very ill and is in for major surgery. How big is your little furry? My girls eat an 1 to 1 1/2 mice. My boys can eat up to 3 depending on their appetite. The easiest is if the whole mouse is gone than add another. If it disappears and isn't hidden someplace add another. I find that 3 is the max for my biggest boys. ciao

ok. cool. Pebbles is almost 3 months. shes getting their in size. but man, she is getting fat. i kinda call her chunkers.
ok. i put in about three ounces for each meal, belle probably eats about 1 of them, and Pebbles eats the rest, with the occasional piece left over. is 2 ounces too much for her, because when i put the food in, she eats it up like shes been starved. which may be the case for her because she's growing?? when i can, i generally out in about 1 ounce at about 3, when i get home, so i think that should hold them over until super and she isn't starved?? i haven't been able to put in a snack in the last couple of days.

Your amounts seem about right. If there's not a lot of leftover then you have it down. You will have to forgive me on the fine line amounts. I notice who's at the food bowl and weigh in at risk ferts biweekly and the rest monthly and give hug tests daily. I don't really notice amounts that are consumed by each individual. I know that they're all eating sufficient. Your little ones are babies and are growing, they will eat a bit more than our grown ones.....I remember vaguely thinking Napoleon was going to blow up if he didn't move away from the food bowl but that was 6 yrs ago.....I can't believe it's been that long since I've had a furbaby in the house. I think you're doing fine on the guesstamation ciao

are eggs OK for them too, i was making eggs the other day, and put some on a plate and pebbles was like YUM something different but belle was like WTH. are eggs OK for a meal as well? also, raw or cooked? or are both good?
also this morning i found red poop. it wasn't bloody persay, just red. I'm not sure what to think of that, could it be that someone digested it too fast? or something.

I think it depends on where the store has sourced their beef from. Some of it has food dye in it to make it look "fresher" By the way? For chicken, when they do it, it's yellow food dye.

we didn't get it from a store, my dad has a friend and he gets a whole cow, and this was left over stuff since were getting another one soon, we need to clean out the "old" stuff. I'm not sure if belle is eating that much. i don't know if she's just tired of everything, or what. because all i get around here is chicken, pork and beef. my mice are about to drop soon, so in a few weeks hopefully she'll like mice . we don't really get THAT much variety. we have a good farmers market around on Saturday's but that's when i ride, so i don't know if i can get out there. here is a good place, which is at a farmers market around here. they have lots of stuff. and when it says "whole" chicken or duck or whatever, does that include organs? I'm hopping to get duck, turkey and maybe rabbit, I've heard duck makes them smell weird? is that true? they have pheasant and goose. that's cool. haha. I'm getting excited over meats, lol.

Welcome to the world of raw feeding We ALL get excited when we can get different meats for our kids If you're buying from a raw supplier, then yes, "whole" means the entire thing chucked into a grinder, head, feathers, fur, and all I've actually found beef gives them a stronger smell if they have more than a couple meals of it. Same for fish. But not duck. Mind you- mine will only eat certain types of duck The ones with the half inch of fat all over, they won't even touch. I've thrown out 3 ducks before I realized what the problem was Can we say spoiled
