So I must admit that normally, I Hate hamsters. But my roommate had a breeding pair bc she wanted to feed her corn snake hamster pinkies. It turns out they only have a few litters in a lifetime, so that ended up being a not so productive experiment on her part. lol She was letting the babies grow a little before feeding them off, and 2 of the babies ended up getting their fun in. at which point they were too cute to feed. lol My roommate rehomed the female, and the parents, but we decided to keep the little boy for a while as I really liked his patterns and he was just so cute. Well my roommate came up with the name Hamlet which stuck, and I discovered that I really like the little guy. lol Next thing I know, I am getting him a nice cage with a wheel and tunnels and treats...lol So, presenting Hamlet the Hamster. He has a cool pattern - reminds me of a zebra. It is like someone has white paint on their hands and picked him up by the belly. Pics! Demon hamster! lol He moved and the picture came out funny... Chair Slide Hamster (he was trying to slide down the groove of the plastic chair leg haha) What? I am not going down there I swear!

Aw I am sorry. He can have Hamlet. lol I like him, but I really don't need more pets. lol Except another ferret. I am not sure if he is a teddy bear or a dwarf to be honest...whatever they sell at Pet Co. He is super sweet, though he did bite me once really good when I scared him. haha

Do you have any idea of how many times, just on this forum, that "food" suddenly developed names, cages, bedding, etc? He's adorable, by the way

But I am not really attached to them or anything. Hamlet is really funny though. I took a video of him on his wheel doing his "drills" we call them. I have to put it up on youtube and post it. He basically runs, then jumps off the wheel and right back on, then runs and repeat repeat repeat. haha So far other than the breeder hamsters and Hamlet's sister our feed animals are either already dead (f/t) or get eaten right away. lol

I've never been fond of small critters other than rats. Gerbils, hamsters, etc. have all bitten the crap out of me. I've never been bit by a rat. Guess that's why the idea of feeding rat pups to the ferts grosses me out but I'm MORE THAN FINE feeding gerbils or mice! lol

I still don't like other hamsters. He bit me once because I scared him, but I have never been bitten by a rodent (thank I can think of anyways) before or since. I DO really like rats though and wouldn't mind having one one day.

Rats are amazing pets. I have three females, and I love them to death. Don't think I could ever go about feeding rats to my ferrets. ><;

YEah, I already feed f/t rats to my snake, so that doesn't bother me. But I don't think I could breed them and kill them other than as pinkies...
