I would say no, but it will make it less smelly over time. ie After 8 hours the raw meat will probably smell worse than the dehydrated meat which will stay good for a long time... lol But dehydrated meat does have a smell all of its own...
And as a side note - when I made mine I used my oven to dehydrate the meat. A dehydrator would work much better. haha
