Mocha has adrenal disease , and i have been treating it with metatonin. She lost most of her fur after latia died. Before that only her belly was naked.

Sounds like you need to move to lupron or deslorin if you're not going to do the surgery. Unfortunately, the disease marches on. At each level you have another treatment available until nothing works any more . Melatonin usually only works for awhile and then you have to move to something stronger. None of the processes used actually cure. They slow down the disease, and mask the symptoms but nothing cures it...not even surgery (it always comes back ) There are others on the board that can help you in regards to the deslorin (it's very difficult for us to get up here in Canada, not impossible but very difficult) ciao

I'll have to talk to the vet about that.

i have verry good news. Mocha a has black fuzz covering her body. Do adrenal ferrets get back their normal coat, before they lost it or could they change fur color? the fuzz seems to be really dark, but it may just be because i am used to seing her pink skin. The Melatonin is finnally helping. Her vuva swelling has gone done a lot as well.

Super easy to get it here, we literally just go to the vet to get it done.

I'm in Calgary, and even with the contact info, I cannot get my vet to order it in

My vet is in the process of ordering it in for me. I just gave her the information that Jennifer posted. She said they were really friendly and that it should take about a month to get. ciao

Sounds great! I'd still check out about getting her either the deslorelin or lupron, though.

ask your vet to increase the lupron dose. how much is she on right now? try to get the deslorelin. like the lupron, the des works great on some ferrets and not so great on others. adrenal tumors respond differently.
