Got my "backyard commercial raw" ( ) today! Consists of 1 lb each ground rabbit, ground duck, ground pork and KSM ( which is ground beef, tripe, chick feet, egg). All the ground has organs/bones in it. She also threw in 1 pinkie rabbit and a sandwich bag full of chicken hearts... all for $10! I'm so excited to see how they do! So I portioned it all out to freeze and decided to do a 'sampler' platter for them for this evening. They're getting the duck, ground rabbit, pork, KSM and 2 chicken hearts. So far Lily won't touch it. I was able to get some rabbit down her throat so maybe she'll go for it more later. Chewey LOVES the duck. he finished off his portion in a hot minute and then moved in on Lily's portion so I had to seperate them. The problem with the duck is that it is VERY fatty so I am only going to feed that in small portions along with something else. Whoo! I am siked to see if they enjoy it! it's just one step closer to whole prey and a well balanced diet

My crew goes crazy for the KSM! AND the pinky rabbits! I'm glad Chewey is enjoying his meal! Lily will love the rabbit...it's just something new and she needs to adjust to it.

Sounds fantastic....your little ones are going to be so spoiled. Yes, do be careful at the beginning feeding duck, the fat content is very high. It's wonderful for putting weight on a thin ferret once they get used to it. ciao

They seemed to enjoy their meal. Not too fond of the pork or rabbit but everything else was pretty much gone. but whooooooo whee did it STINK when I walked in there this morning! I think i'm going to have to do 2 meals a day to keep the stinkiness of the gamey meat down.

there is an amazing lady right outside of Orlando, FL who buys and grinds her meat and sells it to people in the area. The prices are very fair and since I pick up from her there is no delivery charge! I just got enough meat to feed my ferrets for little over a month for $40. perfect! oh and this lady also happens to be Rarnold's mother in law

That's an amazing deal!!! And the great thing about the "connection" is you know exactly what goes into her grind!
