Uck. Just got over Tonsilitis and let me say, it blew I had a 103.3 degree fever, puss-coated tonsils, and missed two days of work (which for me equals 24 hours of work because I work extended shifts). Sorry I was missing from the board last weekend and through this past week. Now you know why. Yuck, tonsilitis sucks! Luckily antibiotics have fixed me up like new, but it still was a horrific experience. Ewww.

yeah tonsilitis blows..... wanna know what blows more? when the doctors can't figure out that it's simple tonsilitis and believe you had strep. no no, wait. you have mono. actually you don't have mono. Wait- yes. your bloodwork is showing you probably have mono, come back and spend more money just to be sure. this is probably why after over a year since having tonsilitis my tonsils are still inflamed!!!! glad you're feeling better though

Wait- yes. your bloodwork is showing you probably have mono, come back and spend more money just to be sure. this is probably why after over a year since having tonsilitis my tonsils are still inflamed!!!! glad you're feeling better though Tell me about it! I had mono, unknowingly, for almost 6-8 months! I was treated for strept twice, it didn't go away so I figured I had tonsilitis. Then another time I went into the ER with tonsils the size of golf balls (you know how hard it is to breathe like that?) and (even though I told them I had already been on antibiotics and they did nothing) they said "We think you have a virus, so we are going to give you antibiotics." !!!!!!!!!! ANTIBIOTICS KILL BACTERIA!!!! NOT VIRUSES!!!! So I didn't take them - no point. I gave up on going to the doctor, since they were obviously not helping and I was busy with school. Well, it started in February and that Summer I went in again and finally saw a real doctor. He tested me and said I had mono, nothing to do but rest and time and healthy diet. It took another 3-4 months after that to get better. My tonsils are now scarred. That was the most miserable time in my life, so I feel your pain. I am very glad you are feeling better Guili! Stuff like that is NO fun! Keep taking it easy for a while while your immune system builds back up. Glad to see you back!

I want mine out, but I am quite honestly afraid of being put under! I was awake for my whole wisdom tooth operation. It was terrible but I lived. The thought of going under anesthesia is scary! And I want to be a doctor...hypocritical no?
