It's been a couple of weeks now, but I just haven't got around to posting. Kaylee passed away of pancreatic cancer. She was a rescue, and we estimate her age at 8-ish. We had her an prednesone (and lots O chicken - she was one of the first converts) for her last few months. So, our bakers dozen is now 12. What can be said, other than that she was a good and sweet ferret.
She was rescued along with another two girls form a local rescue. The others are from the Ohio DMK horror. Kaylee was rescued from a pair of crack heads - literally. So, she likely had a rough time, but she fit in pretty well, and was the first to cuddle.
See you at the bridge, sweet girl.

I'm so sorry, a special prayer will be said for her, I'm sure now she's playing and dancing with my Thor and all the others that have crossed before her.

A special candle is lit for Kaylee, to guide her paws along this next path on to her newest and greatest adventure. Here, there will be no pain or fear. Here she will play with others who have traveled this road before. Here she will remember the warm arms that held her and the love that warmed her little heart. Here she will wait until once again you will be together. ciao

Oh no Jon! I am so sorry to hear about Kaylee. I had no idea she had passed. My deepest condolences. I know that she was an AMAZINGLY lucky ferret to have spent her remaining time on earth with you and your wife. I know she had a rough start, but I have no doubt you made her remaining time on this earth the best imaginable. You and your wife are amazing ferrents and all your babies are lucky to have you. I hope that time helps to heal the loss left by little Kaylee. She may be gone, though she will never be forgotten. I am sorry it took me so long to see this post and respond. Sweet Angel
